    pensions
    Appropriately in red. :(
I have been checking my pension provision...and it doesn't make for nice reading to be honest. :o:(
So, I have made an appointment with a pensions advisor. For a 'free' assessment of my pension needs and how I might sort this out for a more positive outcome. :)
I've been looking at salary sacrifice as it saves money on NI contributions and tax. Obviously I'm just dipping my toe into the water of pensions.
I will be going over to the pension boards to have a look but if anyone has anything they'd like to post that might point me in the right direction, any ideas/opinions they'd like to share with me, all suggestions will be gratefully received. Thank you.

Mortgage payments reinstated to the amount they were before the interest drop. We had a letter last week saying interest rates had dropped-I've been overpaying since it first dropped. So I was not a happy bunny when I discovered that the payment had been reduced accordingly to what it should be without over payments. So I had to make the overpayment manually as soon as I noticed.
All sorted now and I got a balance whilst we were there.

Busy weekend ahead. Lots to do:
    Declutter
Get more stuff sorted and up for sale
    Usual cleaning and tidying
Look into surveys again. Not done any for ages.
Check bank accounts and see what money needs shuffling.
Look into YNAB-heard people raving about it so I really ought to see what it's all about-I may be missing some money saving opportunity-even though it costs £3 a month?

  • Hope you do well with your list. I've 2 "to do's" off my list already this morning already :p :rotfl:

  • Just wanted to pop in and say hi. You are doing so well with all your OPs and meal planning. Food is my big area for reducing too, so love reading all the tips on these pages. We also had our mortgage amount reduced without notice due to decreasing interest rates. Great in a lot of ways, but you are right it messes up the OPs. Also had to do a "ring up the mortgage provider" put it right payment

Thanks AFK. Been trying to concentrate on my list. Problem is once I start decluttering, I get side tracked with all the interesting things I find. Lol

    Hi chumpy
    Thanks for popping by.
Buying food is a real bug bear for me as we haven't been keeping track for ages. I'm sure we were spending between £400-600 a month.
This month, I'm in charge of it. :)

Been feeling unwell all weekend. There is a bug going around. I think I'm now over the worst of it, hopefully.
    Progress report:
    Made a £10 sale yesterday
    Took some stuff to charity.
    Recycled loads of cardboard/paper etc
Sorted some drawers out and threw a bin liner of stuff out.
Got some stuff up for sale.

Still got loads to do. I haven't even started cleaning up, still sorting stuff out.
