Do it all :rotfl: if you have enough. I would have the salmon tonight and the chicken tomorrow, but of course, salmon is my very favourite :) Enjoy your dinner(s), whatever you choose.

Lol. Didn't have enough chicken out of freezer to do it all. I ended up being all in a rush-as per usual. So I cooked off some onions and added the chicken and just cooked it through. I will add something to it tomorrow.
We ate the salmon-it was delicious, I love salmon too.

Operation clear out the freezer is going ok.
Tonight we had salmon-taken out of freezer yesterday, with mushroom sauce and veg - both out of freezer. We also had jam roly poly out of freezer. :)
I've made a list of meals we can have from food we already have in the house. So far I can cook at least 13 meals without having to buy a thing. :)
That should help with this months grocery challenge too.

  • That's great news, hope you can keep to meal plan, that would save such a lot for you. :T I've just cleared a space for another freezer in my kitchen, as the one I have is full. Then I will start meal planning and batch cooking a bit more than I have been doing.

My salmon, if frozen, wrap in paper towel (kitchen roll) and ping it for 2 and a half minutes - perfecto !!!If fresh, still wrap in kitchen roll and ping it for less, if lazy and use (s)mash, meal can be ready in 5 mins :) by adding a little salad.

Yes, we are thinking of getting another freezer for the same reason. It's just a case of deciding what size to get and where to put it.

Going back to an earlier post, I always keep my carrots in the fridge veg drawer. I don't use foil though - just leave them in the open bag

Busy day today, working this morning-paying bills.
Lots of cleaning and tidying to do this afternoon. Might nip to supermarket later to get a couple of bits and get some fuel.

Quick questions time. DD is trying to get me to buy flavoured sparkling water on a regular basis...we have had it a few times and it is nice to drink and it's only £1 for 3 X 1 litre bottles. Its an easy 'go to' refreshing drink. We do drink more water when we have the sparkling bottled water in. It's about 20 calories a bottle-no added sugar.
We are trying to be healthier as a family and some of us are trying to lose weight too, through diet and exercise.

    The questions are:
    1) am I fooling myself and is it just a waste of money?
    2) is it detrimental to health/weight loss efforts

Thank you for any responses, thoughts.

  • My MIL turned her nose up at some flavoured water I offered her last week because it apparently has a lot of sugar in. However, she tells me all sorts of things that I have no idea whether they're true or not so who knows :rotfl:

I suppose from a health point of view it's not really about the calories, as a bottle of diet coke has zero calories. It's more about what's in it in terms of sugar, etc

It does taste delicious and very refreshing though :D
