    Grocery challenge February £100.91/£190
  • Could anyone tell me where I will find the SW quick recipe for tomato soup?

It is made with tinned tomatoes, puree or paste, I think carrots and celery.

I know I have it somewhere because I have every SW book there is, but I just can't find it at the moment.

    Thank you

To be fair I was with her on grating cheese, I can't stand it , always get OH to do it if I can :rotfl:

I only buy grated cheese if the cost per kg is about the same as I'd pay for a block. Often get it in HB. I keep it in freezer and add any LO Parmesan to the bag when we have Bolognese.

I wondered about the ham feature too and it got me thinking. I've put Aldi ham in syns on line, as I buy various packs, and the whole page comes up as free so that's OK.

Definitely count the milk as your HEA shala. I usually have Americano with a small jug of hot milk on the side. Separating it makes me feel more in control:).

Today's menu looks good summerlady. If you've got time keep posting and we'll let you know if we see anything dodgy. I always use the thread as my food diary.

 to no 5% mince lois. I suppose it's the cost that stops people buying it. I try to stock up when I can especially if I see any YS. Is it easy to come by when you're in Spain?

    Today's EE menu:
B: NAS Grapefruit, 2 fried eggs, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: ham, fried LO veg, pickles
D: steak, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, asparagus, SW chips
Syns: squirt of HP sauce, weekend wine:).

Somebody find that great big pokey stick, will they? poke-new.gif

I have been sooooo bad the last couple of days.
Meals have been okay,it is the constant snacking in between that spoils it for me.

And it is only going to get worse,I am sure: for about the last 5 years we have had plans for a house extension. There has been trouble getting planning permission, plans re-drawn,momentum lost, costs too much, etc ,so put on hold etc.The need is even more desperate now that OH and I are sleeping on the front room floor, kitchen is inadequate, etc.
Sooooooo,we have just found out (yesterday) that works should be starting next week :eek:.We are literally having half the house demolished (kitchen, dining room, garage, utility room and adjoining outhouses) then completely rebuilt. Will at some stage need to move out (into inlaws' house),for probably a couple of months at least .Now,so as not to be an awkward guest,I will not be able to follow SW faithfully while I am there.I am trying to be good now, though. Not working.

So please,gang-lots of big sticks for Saver-upper.This has happened to me the last 2 times I reached target ( since joining in March 2011)-I get to target, than it almost feels like you're not sure what else to do.What is the goal now?Meanwhile,I relax abit food-wise.

If I could get myself off this sofa,I really should start decluttering and packing for demolition.

I can't find the ham & potato hash recipe either, I must have seen it to write down ingredients to buy but now I've lost it. Can some wonderful person add it to the first page please? I found another recipe by googling. I've left out the garlic and added mustard for a bit of a kick instead oh and didn't have caraway so added a spoonful of sesame. Am bunging it in the oven later to reheat. Hope it's good :D

Making butternut and red pepper soup as well as campfire stew. Looking forward to warming food now back at work and on playground duty every day :p
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
