Dinner.. Roast lamb, mint sauce 2 syns ?? 1 potato. Carrots, garden peas
Gravy 2 syns.
That depends how it's made wiz. If you buy the NAS one it's free. I use it to make a yogurt, mint and garlic dip.Could I ask if you do anything particular to thicken the gravy of your mince? I tend to add a bit of cauli to my casseroles, so it breaks down and thickens it - that or mash the swede a little.
As for syns - I generally use as few as possible in cooking - quorn sausage, or the odd tsp of corn flour when I can't avoid it.
On a bad day, I might have a pack of skips and a Freddo, but most days I'll get a skinny late from work, and have an options hot choc in the evening.
Just checking that you are having syns. They're built into the plan so good to plan for them.
I always do my mince in the SC and freeze it so maybe the fact it's standing and slow cooking helps to thicken. I don't add any thickener at all and it's a good gravy consistency. I can look out the recipe but it's basically mince and onions, garlic, tomato puree, Oxo cubes and then other veg depending on what's available like diced carrot and mushrooms. so effectively syn free. I love it with new potatoes and greens or made into a cottage pie.
My pub meal was every bit as synful as I expected (Sausage and onion ciabatta with side of chips:eek:) but back on plan now until tomorrow's dinner.
Good to see you posting tie, shala and mim. Missed you all. I'm determined to keep weight right down before Christmas party season starts (actually my first Christmas party is in just 5 weeks time:eek:).0 -
Fed up. Completely fed up. Oven has decided to pack in. No idea what to do food wise now. An expense I could do without before christmas, but still I guess it better than christmas day!
Today had gone right bad.... Have taken 30 syns from my syn bank, but its probably more if I'm honest. That leaves me with 13 left for tomorrow and monday.
Writing it off.... And need to plan what I'm gonna do tomorrow now...
Tips/advice most welcome

Hi people.
I'm a failed sw target member..hangs head in shame.
I'm iw heavier than when I began. Last night I dreamed that someone mistook me for a pregnant lady. I s very much like t ge back into sw.
I've even forgotten how the loan works but I've books to look up.
I'm hoping to make enough of a change before Christmas to feel better about myself.
Where do I begin in here? Post a weight and a week's goal?
It's depressing isn't it? I was talking to a young lad who went to our SW club. he lost about 7 stones. Stopped going for 10 months and put it all back on plus another couple of stones.
It's hard staying focused.0 -
Sorry I have been mia for the most of the week - started off with being poorly, DH had a relapse with his dose of the lurgy and the latter part of the week has just been so hectic I haven't had time to post or even just read.
I have rewarded myself a little time this morning to catch up with you all. I think the last time I posted was around chart time so I will say 'Well done' orlao on SOTW (if I remember correctly) and a massive well done to all our fab losers. Huggles to anyone struggling with it all. Hope your Dad is better soon Tete and hope that all poorlies are feeling better soon. Lantanna - hope your issue has settled in and you are not in too much pain. Let me know about the prunes TIE- I usually have a HE worth (80g) and doesn't really have any effect. Today's HEb is apricots in the lamb dish we are doing in SC - smells delish.
. Will just have to remember that I have used my HE :rotfl:
Apart from being locked out of your own home Meg - did you enjoy your little trip (or gallavanting I think it's being called here). Love the window sign :rotfl:.
Great to see we have new people joining us - to you all.
We've had quite a few new members at class over the last month too but as has already been mentioned here, quite a few of the longer term members are weighing and leaving. I don't think for me that would work if I were to do it on a regular basis but if people find it works for them hey ho. Our consultant has managed to hit a magic number of members and is being allowed to run an earlier class. Cannot make my mind up on which one to attend - bearing in mind that I am on the social team. I think the late class will always be 'my class' with having attended it for so long but some of the lovely people I have become friends with are swapping to the earlier class
Lunch today has been jacket potato with egg (mayo and yoghurt) wtih huge salad followed by satsuma and plum.
Had a couple of sneaky wi and things aren't looking wonderful for tomorrow might despite sticking to plan. I have however had several comments this week on how well I am looking so I am trying to focus on this rather than the numbers on the scales. My old gp asked me at a meeting the other night 'do you feel as good as you look'.
Hopefully I wont be missing quite as much this coming week.

I'm still reading every day, not much to contribute other than moaning about my tum issues so best I keep quiet lol.
Also been reading up on benefits of dark chocolate, bought some Lindt 90% (2 for £3 in sainsbobs) so giving it a go. Trying a square a day (or when I remember it's there) same with the prunes (100g is a bit much for me
) I have half on my breakfast then forget the rest
:o.
Nice Sunday roast to look forward to today, can't wait 😋Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

That's great wiz, I'm so pleased for you. Getting to target should be a great (early?) Christmas present for you. Then you can put some back on again! :rotfl:
It seems you have one of the highest syn mint sauces on the market. If you enjoy it, it's worth the syns so that's fine but there are free ones (like CP said) and own brand ones seem to be about half for a tbsp. Maybe try a different brand when the Colman's runs out.
Sorry to hear you're still having the tummy issues tie but it is good to hear from you and certainly doesn't come across as moaning. Lantanna and I both have a bit of dark chocolate regularly. We have 70%. I find the 90% too sharp/dry.
That's a real NSV b-e-g from the GP. What a lovely thing to say.:) I find I can leave it a month or so between WI and, if I'm honest, it's the WI that focuses me rather than the group but when I go I almost always stay. I think what's happened to me is that over 5 years, doing SW has become my default position for shopping/cooking/eating so although I have indulgent meals and holidays off plan when I get back to normal I'm back on SW.
My EE plan for today:
B: NAS Grapefruit, HEB porage, HEA milk
L: JP with ham, cottage cheese and beetrooteating at pub so probably off plan
Syns: lots!
As it's Sunday, then we may have a roast at the pub which isn't too bad but haven't decided yet.0
