What do you all think of the new BMW 350i/440i? Contrary to what the name suggests, it isn't a 4 litre engine but instead a 3 litre twin turbo charged engine.
How does it compare to the competition?
Although not on the same power level, I'm quite a fan of the new Lexus IS250. It's shaped very well and I expect the soon to be released coupe/convertible a real looker!

Oh and if you opt for the auto, a lightening fast 8 speed sport gearbox.
if you want you could also opt for the double clutch transmission.
What automatic gearbox does the Astra or Focus use?
You do realise that the 8speed is likely a ZF box and is either the same or similar to the one fitted to Jaguars, Land Rovers and probably AWD Audis?
And Fords have had double clutch auto boxes for years, certainly 2011 on in the Galaxy and maybe a bit earlier in the S40/V50, which is a Focus in a posh frock0 -

More nonsense. BMW 3 series have never tried to compete with Mondeos and Vectras. Traditionally, the Merc C class and 3 series have always been in competition, and then Lexus tried competing with the 3 series with the IS200.
You are wrong on this point
If you were a bit older you would realise that the 3 Series has always competed for sales with the Mondeo, which is one reason that Top Gear many years ago tested the two.
And the Mondeo (Mk3 at the time) was not disgraced in any way.
A 3 Series is merely a reps car. Which is why so many used ones have poverty specs when they appear on the used market.0 -
Haha are you actually comparing the M3 to a focus ST and RS?
Go to any Ford RS forum and even they will freely admit the M3 is better in literally everyway.
And, I have pushed BMWs near the limit, but not the E46 M3 or for that matter the 325ci and 330i.
Have you ever compared current prices of a similarly aged M3 and Focus RS?
And you do realise that "pushing" a car is Forza or Gran Turismo is not relevant to the real world, even if you have a nice steering wheel and pedal set up.....0 -
Chumlee, you clearly had an awful 530.
Not really.
Met Traffic Officers found the 5Series to be less stable than the Omega that it replaced.
There are very good reasons why V70s are selected by so many Forces for high speed work and as pursuit vehicles.
And one of them is stability at speed.0 -

Why do you carry on quoting the OP's posts from over a week ago. The OP who is now PPR (and confirmed troll) so won't even be responding?
For an experienced forum user that's pretty odd!0 -
