there is NO reason to photo the car on entry unless this is an ANPR setup with stationary cameras
the answer , as we all guessed was the warden/company are crooks
I haven't seen this app, but I have seen other apps. They have OCR, which mostly gets the numberplate right.
So possibly the way the app works is that you circle the car park at regular intervals, photographing each car. It then beeps or vibrates or flashes at you if an overstay is detected. You then take more photos.
This is just a guess though. In one of my local car parks a chap goes round writing numberplates and times in a notepad with a pencil. Perhaps it uses that technology!Dedicated to driving up standards in parking0 -
Hey all. As you can see this has been reported locally. Myself and another driver did interviews for bbc radio Lincolnshire and look north to be broadcast tomorrow. Also the Sunday times may be publishing a small article this week or next. This is getting spread around a lot and the moment so hopefully something will be done to stop these acting fraudulently
I look forward to watching it (TiVo on record!)
The OH and I use this car park quite a lot, but have never run into trouble ... yet!!
Watching this one with interest, however the problem is, as soon as you drive out one bunch of crooked idiots, there are dozen waiting in the wings to pick up the pieces! I wander if ParkingEye would pick it up? I'd be interested to see if they apply for planning/advertising consent for cameras and signage if they did (see my own thread to see what I'm getting at!)0 -

umm , no
1: warden scratches *alls , walks upt o a car and photographs it , any car at random , but preferably in a corner of the carpark (see PP pictures)
2: the then lights a cigarette , winds the clock on his phone two hrs forward , takes another photo , then scurries away chuckling to himself.
however if you look at the photos on PPs website , the warden made a cockup because of other cars parked up.0 -

No static background with regard to surrounding vehicles - or nothing that'll give too much away about the (lack of) time disparity!0 -
Had to think about this comment ...

Thanks Freddy - I'm purposely going to park in those spots at some point in future and watch what happens!0

While theres much talk of the pakring company, hopefully the landowner ( or who ever hired the parking company ) could have some pressure appliedFrom the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"0 -
this is going to end up with a statement from then saying it was a "rogue warden"
1: he has been sent for extra training
2: he has been dismissed
3: we have changed his badge number , now !!!! off
are we taking bets?0 -
I think he will have his badge number removed and the idiot will be promoted to TRAINING OFFICER and will be holding extra training classes for the rest of the morons on how to make this trick work and possibly getting a scientist in to explain how to avoid shots with shadows and other giveaways
a bit like you see in the undercover assignments on watchdog that the "trainer" always denies when MATT confronts them in the nearest car park or doorway
perhaps we need to put clocks in the front and rear of the cars so that any photograph shows our timepieces as well , lol0 -
Hey sorry not been getting back to people and not had chance to read all messages. As you can imagine it's been a little crazy lol. Full time work and 3 interviews in one day. There is now a Facebook page set up for our stories in this car park and may be easier to keep updated with that. I will still update here. Face page group is Motorists against fraudulent charges tritton road retail lincoln
Thank you all for your messages and advice. The support received has been amazing on here and on social media. We will be fighting this until the end!!0
