Just chatting with some guys and gals at work to figure out which car park this one is ...

Turns out it's Halford's/Curry's/PC World/Starbucks et al - Free for X hrs, no return within Y hrs.

We all park in there all the time - my last visit was less than a week ago! We shall be on our guard! (We're not a small company!)

Might be worth informing those shops of what is going on in their car park, and whether they approve of fraud that is quite capable of catching out genuine shoppers who are parking perfectly within the terms and conditions.

Not to mention the adverse publicity.

I imagine it will not happen again in the near future from the frenzy this has caused, just waiting for the UKPC "admin error" climb down!

Agreed! Perhaps the OP might like to send emails/letters to the retail outlets on the site concerned too? (If I don't get around to it before her!)

Details of the site here ...

Whilst I have a spare few moments over lunch I'm off to find some email addresses!

Dammit, no email addresses for individual locations!

    (except for SCS - linadmin@scs.co.uk)

Perhaps the OP will take it from here? Up to them I guess? I've just done the same for all the retailers and the management company on a site I got pinged at (different circumstances!)

I've passed the word around work and asked those that I have told the spread even further. I even managed to collar someone from another of our Lincoln sites, so hopefully word will spread there too - as I say, we ain't a small company (do not wish to divluge which company!)

As you say, it may not happen again, but if it does, at least those I have told know to come find me so I can point them in this direction ...

Haven't had time to read the whole thread but I hope you've swiftly emailed POPLA something about 'no GPEOL' and added the wording from the NEWBIES thread about POPLA appeals, specifically asking for a stay of the decision (if it's not decided yet) pending the Beavis case.

Also add 'UKPC do not own the site so I contend they have no authority to issue PCNs at all, or to pursue them in the courts. I require a copy of the contract UKPC say they have with the landowner'.

That buys you until November with no POPLA decision, or you'll win sooner on 'no landowner authority' if UKPC don't cough up the contract sharpish and an Assessor looks at it.

If you've already got a wrong way POPLA decision (sorry for skim reading) just ignore the above and ignore UKPC and carry on reporting them!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD

UKPC will begin with the News of the World 'one rogue reporter' argument. That didn't end well for some staff. Hopefully this ends in a similar fashion.
