.... I suspect after a while if he can't hold the party together, he'll step down ( he seems to be honourable enough in that sense ) and make way for someone who's a little less like him policy wise. But at the same time, much to the left of Miliband, Burnham, Cooper and Kendal. And a little more media savvy.

I suspect that if Corbyn does "step down" sometime before the next election, then the PLP will not the same mistake again.

... Especially once the EU ref is over, and all those millions of UKIP voters need a home. Those that went from Labour -> UKIP directly were quite numerous in number. It's not much of a stretch to imagine that quite a lot of them could be tempted back directly.....

Why, what do you think the result will be? After all, haven't recent events demonstrated that losing a referendum doesn't necessarily mean that a party gives up.:)

Mr Cameron will be driven out by all this presumably to be replaced a couple of years earlier than otherwise (remember that he said he wouldn't contest the next election as leader).

Yeah, I guess it's pretty funny. It still doesn't resolve the very fundamental problems that Labour have. The 1922 Committee will get rid of Mr Cameron but Labour MPs can't get rid of Mr Corbyn. Enjoy the japes while you can because the laugh is going to be on Mr Corbyn in a few years. I suspect he's beggured it up already by allowing Cabinet ministers to take contrary positions.

By 2020 no voter will have a clue what a cross next to a Labour candidate actually means. In or out of NATO? Probably. In or out of the EU? Doubtless. Independence or Unionism in Scotland? Most likely one or the other.
I think you may have a point but surely the press need to give Corbyn more than a week to sort his policies? It's like they are looking to destroy him straight from the off. It's not fair or pretty to watch! Cameron wont be damaged by these articles .....It'll be seen as 'tittle tattle' so long as he doesn't deal with it in a ham fisted way;)

Corbyn has been an MP for over 20 years

how much more time does he know whether he

-wants to honour the IRA as freedom fighters or not
-supports staying in NATO or leaving
    -supports keeping Trident or not
-supports staying in EU or leaving
-wants to indict Tony as a war criminal or not
-want to abolish the monarchy or not
-wants to ware a suit and tie for formal state occasions or not
-wants to sing the national anthem or not?
-believe our boys in NI were an army of occupation or trying to keep the peace?

why are these questions so difficult for some-one who has been in politics his entire life?

I think we will wait as long time for answers from a man who can't even think of the questions for himself. (at PMQ).

Clapton why don't you just stop trotting out the same old porkies all the time. Of course Saint Jeremy knows what he believes:-
-wants to honour the IRA as freedom fighters or not No
-supports staying in NATO or leaving Stay
-supports keeping Trident or not Get rid but Party policy overrides personal view

-supports staying in EU or leaving Stay In
-wants to indict Tony as a war criminal or not - Depends on Chilcott
-want to abolish the monarchy or not - Abolish but his personal view and it's a fight he doesn't intend to have.
-wants to ware a suit and tie for formal state occasions or not - probably no but convention and the Daily Mail will require him to
-wants to sing the national anthem or not? See previous answer
-believe our boys in NI were an army of occupation or trying to keep the peace? He believes they were trying to keep the peace but atrocities on both sides committed and talking to both sides was the right thing to do !

Since you believe everything the Daily Mail says about Jeremy. Have a read:-

Was 'call me Dave' debauched or not?
How could he possibly like Supertramp and does that make him unsuitable to be PM?
Where is the photographic evidence of the lewd act?
Was 'call me Dave aware of Ashcrofts non dom tax status before he said he was?
What are 'call me Dave's' views on drugs policy?
.....and finally......have the British people been the victim of a 'pig in a poke' tory manifesto by voting for this individual?;)

He will undoubtedly not wish to comment on any of these accusations. I really doubt they will drive Tory voters into the Looney left asylum inhabited by Çomrade Corbyn and his team of maniacs and misfits.

So the man with strong principles turns out to be a bit wishy-washy, so willing to listen to everyone that he appoints a shadow cabinet with radically diverging views and intends to tear down the manifesto on which Labour MPs entered Parliament.

How could anyone consider voting for such an indecisive shower? What exactly would one be voting for?

Even more shocked now : is Corbyn really going to obey the Daily Mail?
What do his acolytes think about that; but as they have accepted him dropping all his 'principles' within a week, I guess they will accept this to?

I feel no need to defend Dave as a person : I'm only interested in policies but the issue of Ashcroft's non dom status is a matter of substance. If it were shown he lied then he should resign (I suppose he could try the McConnell defense and apologise for any offence caused).

He can't win with you can he. That figures!

Very principled Clapton. Perhaps you'll show the same consistency by withdrawing your support for a party whose 'acolytes' spend all their time with their snouts in the trough!:rotfl:
