There isn't a "black culture" any more than there is a white culture.

A working family from Ghana living next to a troubled West Indian family on benefits has no more in common with them than you do. But because the UK has a seam of institutional racism that tends to stick people with black skin into ghettos, the Ghanaian family is a million times more likely to wind up living next to them than you.

Try growing up in a dump where you if you walk in the wrong street you can stabbed, going to schools that focus on crowd control rather than education, and being 20 times more likely to be stopped by the police than a white person who lives a 5 minute drive away, and 9 times more likely to be jailed for a minor offence they'd be let off for, and see how well you do in life.

One has to wonder what it is about ethnic minorities that makes them behave that way.

I reckon some of the posters on here ought to set up a scheme whereby late middle-aged Tories use their vast knowledge and experience to mentor poor people and ethnic minorities.

Labour MPs are now calling for Jared O'Mara to be suspended.

Corbyn, unsurprisingly, will have to be forced to do anything. He can't bear to take orders. If this follows the pattern of similar incidents he'll skulk out of sight for as long as possible & not comment (don't expect to see him on a stage with his hands in the air this week). Finally when the pressure gets too much he'll then begrudgingly take action, probably a suspension rather than a sacking & a promise of a "full investigation".

I'm betting this will happen before the week is out. We'll see.

MP Jared O'Mara has been suspended by Labour while it investigates misogynistic and homophobic comments he is alleged to have made.

Labour is specifically investigating "comments and behaviour which have been reported from earlier this year".

Quelle surprize. Several days too late Labour are finally forced to act. As usual in these cases it's McDonnell who comments while Corbyn skulks, hidden from the bad publicity. He's your man when you need somebody to hold their hands up at Glasto. But he's nowhere to be seen when it comes to dealing with nasty types in his own party.

… and I bet that before long we'll hear he has been reinstated. Thoroughly nasty type, like so many of the Corbyn cult appear to be. Had someone in the Conservative party said such things, Corbyn and his mob would be baying to high heaven. Disgusting.

That would probably be more beneficial than telling them everything that doesn't go right for them is someone else's fault.

Black Caribbean women earn more than white women. Where's the outrage on behalf of white women?

As long as he's basically sound on Jews he'll be fine.

I read your very judgemental treatise and saw who thanked you for it and came away with the feeling that you and your thankers try desperately hard to avoid being seen as self interested by appealing to reason and rationality. Doesn't work though because the very fact that you care so much about how your tax money is spent exposes your philosophy on life. You are also very judgemental of your friend imo. I wonder what he thinks of you? Look at the language you use when giving your view of his situation. His wife 'virtually confessed'...makes my blood boil.....I slave away to put food on the table, he's always down the park with his kids, etc etc. How are you able to be friends with someone you resent so much amazes me!

In regards to being judgemental, you seem to be pigeonholing me and "who thanked" me quite well yourself.
Us evil ones up to no good with our evil deeds of going to work each day to keep the economy going and paying the tax coffers for those who don't. How dare we voice an opinion, how dare we criticize any notion that others might be playing the system, even if we actually see it happening before our very eyes, why haven't we learnt just to keep our heads down, shut up and get back to work, there's people out there that need their rents paid for.
They are the good, the workers are the bad, you are right. And if all the bad people died tomorrow i'm sure all the bills would be paid for by people, like Russel Brand, Corbyn, Lily allen and you right? As we all know a strong sense of morality is well known for putting bread on the table, just tap our heels together "theres no place like home"
Of course people like me have a bit of an attitude about it, we are being told by people like you to shut up and bring in the bacon, "we need your labor but screw your opinions"...how on earth do you expect us to act, why is my child less important than someone elses, why, when I do extra hours should I not allow my child extra treats, do I do them for fun?
My wife and I saved up 20K for a mortgage we have paid literally thousands into a house to give us equity, make it secure, I have done more overtime than I care to remember, we could of spent this money on round the world holidays, flash cars extravagant lifestyles, but we chose to try and set a good example for our kid, do the right thing take responsibilty, teach them some basic values, and build a future, but it turns out, according to you, that we should also be paying for others who have CHOSEN not to work as hard and CHOSEN not to make sacrifices.

In regards to what my friend thinks of me, probably the slighty cranky one who talks about this stuff way to often, but then again I don't get a lot of opportunity to speak about it a lot of the time, as I'm at work, and its not like he gives a damn much about what people thinks of him anyways. :rotfl:

Yes for reasons stated to you earlier, people like you hinder the issue, not help it.

Universal credit claimants have to wait six weeks and build up debts that they can't afford or go hungry meantime....

They have been advised there are advanced payments, many councils have been doing this for months, don't get carried away with the MSM sensationalism, less than 8% of the claimants have even moved across to UC to date and 4/5 have stated they are happy or more than happy with the situation.

but it's worth it because we must see who is genuine because the most important thing is how my money is spent! Also don't forget not just tories pay taxes.... although listening to some of them you'd think otherwise.

Even Labour are behind the idea, they have said the current system needs to be changed, of course they are going to argue against how, that's what opposition do.

I thought mentoring ethnic minorities and poor people would take up the available time but I'm sure white, late middle-aged Tory males are the perfect people to mentor on women's inter-racial pay disparities too.

I didn't say there was a black culture, I said there was a culture, there are many cultures, some have black people some white, some both.

What is institutional racism? what does that mean, what evidence is there for it, can you be more specific, because it is a meaningless statement otherwise, provide actual examples of racism and I (like many) would support you. But pretend there is a culture (there's that word again) of racism, but provide nothing of substance to back it up, in itself is racism accusing someone or something of"institutional racism" is no better or less racist than saying "those black folks...",

Who tends to stick people where? councils stick people in available housing, the picking and choosing days are long gone, as afar as I can tell both white people and black people dwell in the poorest parts of society, there are oppotunites for both, Some aspire and get out, some are eternal victims, I know which one I support.
Tens of thousands of EU citizens with no social housing or benefits came here over the last decade, many with little basic skills and a small grasp of English language, many of these started out renting and number of these now have decent jobs and mortgages.

It is not racism if it is true, I would happily point it out it were white, black, yellow or green. It has nothing to do with color, it is culture, and the sooner the real issue is recognized, and dealt with the better.

    Victimisation

The risk of being a victim of crime was significantly higher for BAME groups, compared to the White ethnic group. Consistently, a higher proportion of the Mixed ethnic group reported being victims of a personal crime, though this is not reflected in the number of people in the Mixed ethnic group who believed it was likely that they would be a victim of crime in the next year. Homicide rates were higher for Black victims, compared to White and Asian victims, with members of each ethnic group being most frequently killed by someone of the same group. Police records show increases in the levels of racially and religiously aggravated crimes, whereas surveys of personal victimisation show a fall in the numbers of racist incidents being experienced. (A possible explanation for this disparity could be improved recording or detection practices by the police.)

Teenagers: there has been a rise in the number of children living in single-parent families
Almost half the black children in Britain are being raised by single parents, new Government figures reveal.
A quarter of all youngsters live in one-parent families – treble the proportion in 1972, according to the Office for National Statistics.
The biggest percentage of lone-parent households is among black ethnic groups. Forty-eight per cent of black Caribbean families have one parent, as do 36 per cent of black African households.
Single-parent families are less common among Indians (ten per cent), Bangladeshis (12 per cent), Pakistanis (13 per cent), Chinese (15 per cent) and whites (22 per cent).
Nine out of ten single-parent families are headed by mothers.
Children who grow up without their biological father are more likely to be unemployed, commit crime and leave education early, according to research by think tank Civitas.
They are also twice as likely to be homeless.
Lone-parent families are three times more likely to live in rented accommodation than couples with children and are also more likely to live in homes that fall below minimum standards.

I think what we need to resolve issues like this is a bit more sanctimonious indignation from fence-sitting serial complainers.

At least moby and arklight actually believe in something.
