Considering your stated political views and the political parties you vote for, I don't understand how you can write that.
Unless it's a criticism of what you perceive the UK to be like.
So respect for other cultures in the UK can only be achieved if everyone does it your way?
Isn't that an authoritarian viewpoint?0 -
I think what we need to resolve issues like this is a bit more sanctimonious indignation from fence-sitting serial complainers.
At least moby and arklight actually believe in something.
Unlike some...
Obviously aimed at me. I'm not on the fence - I think we have the worst government & opposition in living memory at a time when we need better. If that changes I'll stop complaining about it.
What are you doing that's oh so different to me to resolve these issues? Absolutely nothing would be my guess. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. ... You hypocrite!
If only you could see thatJarad O Mara is the new hate figure that allows the opportunity for you to yet again avoid the self reflection that would improve you as a person.
Corbyn is changing attitudes and providing the mirror for us all to look at ourselves and the values we have. I understand for many it is hard. The journey will be long but it will be worth it in the end.;)
If it is a mirror then I hope it is a severely distorted one. He admires Venezuala - need I say more.
This country needs capitalism, it needs people willing to work to make money, without those that make money where would we be. After all, they are the ones that pay people to work for them, and everyone has the opportunity to work their way up the ladder if they want to, they simply have to work hard.
Of course, the society that Corbyn wants has people at the top, but they are there for life, no-one can work their way up because that sort of thing is frowned upon.
I simply can't understand why he doesn't move to Venezuala if he is that enamoured of their society, or maybe North Korea.
Anyone with an ounce of sense knows what this country needs, and it most certainly is not Corbyn, it most certainly is no having the unions running it.What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Communism and most of the roles of unions should be dead ideology but not in the top ranks of the current labor government
Socialism can work you can tax the private sector (and in most advanced counties they do tax the private sector 40-50%) and laws can protect workers rights don't interfere with the private secor or nationalise it.
Over a hundred million died thanks to the crack pots that thought they could micro manage an entire population and dictate to the people how much rice to plant how many pots to melt down into steel in their back gardens etc. And over a billion had to suffer decades of poverty under communist rule
Corbyn and his pals are not socialists they are communist and as such a real threat to this country. Their supporters often don't know the difference the ones that do may be thinking dear leader will hold back his communist tendencies but that's not a risk I would take.0 -

You have no idea who I've ever voted for, I've certainly not posted it on here.
I can tell you that if you guessed you'd be virtually certain to get it wrong.
Best not to presume.0 -

Complaining isn't going to change the situation though. Your energy would be better spent doing something positive.0 -

I'd love to hear all about the positive things you do that are different to what I do. I suspect we both just get on with life in pretty much the same way.
Besides, you're hardly Mr. Glass Half Full so aren't really the go to guy for tips on positivity. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
All around us people are turning their backs on a slow death from Conservatism. Over the last 7 years life for the poorest has never been harder, public spending has been slashed and average wages are stagnant or have fallen in real terms.
During this time the average wealth of the top fifth of the population has increased by 64% while the poor's finances have fallen by 57%.
In a time when nurses are being referred to food banks the top few richest people in the UK added £47bn to their personal wealth.
There is a limit to the obscenity that the electorate will accept. History tells us that it seems to take an awful lot to stop English people voting for a blue rosette, but we are at tipping point now.0 -

Such nonsense. If you are poor there has never been a better time to be alive
I know people are fond of looking back and remembering only the good but objectively we have never had it so good. That's not popular to say but it is true. The problem is people like you are too vocal & people like me are not vocal enough.
This is a great country with high wages low unemployment and fantastic prospects.
That doesn't mean everyone has or will have a fantastic life as many people shoot themselves in the foot via drug alcohol gambling addictions and others have mental problems or other mental traits (like getting angry v quickly and not able to control themselves).
I am glad I live in this country and no amount of negative propaganda is going to make me forget that we have high wages full employment and live in a safe civil society with mostly good people and good governance0
