Even the Socialist Party thought so back in 2006 - and nothing's happened since then to improve that opinion AFAIK.Blair more hated than Thatcher
With this:

It seems pretty much like yes and yes.0 -
Everyone either hates Blair or is indifferent to him. Plenty of people then and now loved Thatcher, exactly because of the kind of people who hated her. So I'd say Blair walks it.
Nobody seriously disagrees that this characterisation of Blair was wholly fair and accurate:

It pays to pay attention to what the Tories say about Labour's leader, because they are always right.0 -
Geez this thread is nothing but a hate fest towards anyone left of centre. So much energy is spent hating Corbyn, Abbott etc.....Meanwhile our useless Govmt carries on making our lives harder and harder:- https://www.theguardian.com/society/2017/sep/10/call-for-action-as-uk-falls-behind-rest-of-europe-for-life-expectancy-growth Thankfully the haters don't seem to be able to destroy the growing positivity for a different way of doing things. A couple of months ago Labours crisis was described as existential.....now they could be a govmt in waiting. . ........but the haters carry on with the same old hackneyed smears because they have such a poverty of ideas....they have no answers for the problems of the new generation of voters. Labour is winning these voters over in bigger and bigger numbers.... the only response from the haters is to repeat ad nauseum the same old smears and hope that some of the mud will stick. The 'coalition of chaos' message was ineffective this year. it didn't work like the Miliband in Salmond's pocket smear in 2015. Times are a changin'!0

Oh no, what a catastrophe, life expectancy GROWTH not quite as high as the Utopia seekers demand. The Japanese live longest, a whole c2 yrs longer, I demand action.
Do you travel?
What springs out at you when comparing frozen food loving sloth like Brits to Latin's that spend all day playing in the sea and eating olives?
I caught 'Benidorm' the other night, the Latin waiting staff kept saying Brits love their frozen factory foods, a total surprise to you I would imagine!
What do you notice about Eastern European (from far poorer states) women compared to waddling Brits?
Go to many a Labour run area and you find a mass of expensive takeaways on every high street. People forced to eat large donner n chips + a cherry Coke at £7 a pop
BTW, are we short of people, how long do you want the Nanny State to encourage us to live for, seeing as an average 83 for Women doesn't pass your Utopia benchmark.
Always down to the State isn't it, rather than individual choices.0 -

yep I travel all over the world Conrad. Your anecdotal experiences and observations, although some of them very colourful, (especially your interest in East European women's rear ends) are hardly the stuff of intellectual rigour compared to Sir Michael Marmot's research. It seems the countries where life is good are such places as Sweden, Denmark, Norway and furthermore it seems those are countries where taxes are quite high and the state intervenes in the well being of the public quite effectively. I had no idea that people in Labour run areas are forced to eat 'large doner & chips' by the way. Perhaps unlike Sapphire you will be able to produce evidence for your controversial assertion?0
