You have to be realistic. People really slow down in their 70s.

Can hardly believe what I am reading in the papers today. Its like a coordinated campaign of propaganda, mostly originating from inside the PLP.

Are you not aware how often Corbyn voted against his own party? Since he showed no loyalty to them, why on earth would you or he think they'll eagerly show loyalty to him?

He stuck his fingers up at most of his own party for years & now he's whining about the fact that those same people don't like him.

    Well Duh....

Corbyn is being used as a puppet by his union masters.

Thanks to Jeremy there are approaching one 800,000 members and supporters of the Labour Party, proudly wearing the red rosette.

How many supporters do you have?

    Who is wearing your rosette?

Tory voters on the whole don't go in for public shows of allegiance. They just quietly go to the Ballot box and vote. So the numbers of membership don't matter all that much.

Agreed, which is why I don't understand why we're so lacklustre when it comes to fusion research.

We seem to have two major problems -
    1) A source of energy that is as close to 100% renewable and non-polluting as we can achieve.
    2) What to do with all of these people? They're eating all the fish, out-competing most of the other species on the planet, and polluting the seas with plastic. We barely need them for unskilled work any longer, and we'll soon not need them for what's currently skilled, and they seem remarkably resistant to upskilling. We can keep inventing new pretend jobs for some of them, but a whole load are going to have to be paid to do absolutely nothing other than consume.

Fusion must be the ultimate goal.

But you must admit we're a long way off. Aneutronic
fusion would be the ideal, though it's the strength of the magnetic fields holding the various subatomic fuels togther, that needs to be far greater, than it is at present.

From a renewable energy perspective hydroelectric dams should be looked at.
Imagine if Labour proposed building the Strath Dearn
pumped hydro storage dam in Scotland. It's estimated to be able to store all of Europe's renewable energy.
The thousands of jobs and the conservation of our depleting oil resource would benefit the economy for decades to come.

Storing all the electricity in one place isn't a particularly good idea. You do get transmission losses.

From the link provided the losses could be as low as 10.5%. Even tripling that figure would make the project worthwhile.

I can certainly imagine Corbyn getting behind this idea because he's got zero science training of any significance.

Pumping salt water this far inland to pollute rivers and underground aquifers is such a deeply stupid idea that he'd be all over it.
I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.

Are you insinuating with all our engineering expertise we couldn't limit those outcomes?

Your opinion might be free, but it's also worthless.
