I've on multiple occasions seen friends, neighbours and colleagues told bluntly that they are being transferred (sometime abroad) and they have two options to lump it and move or get another job.
Needless to say in reality the second option was not available which is why the companies know that they can present this sort of ultimatum.
Needless to say also the individuals were not happy and their immediate families even less so.
it would be good to have a list of such companies and professions so that people could avoid them0 -

I will grudgingly accept that unions had a health and safety role before such things became enshrined in law, but they were then in many cases hijacked by the extreme left.
BTW, according to Political Compass my politics are slightly right wing, but nothing like as far right (no capitals) as the modern Labour party. I'm also far more libertarian than any current UK party, so hey go join a union if that's what works for you. Of course, I'll then exercise my freedom to criticise you for it.
Much of your views on Unions are just a cliched Thatherite rant from what I can see. Why would you criticise my membership of a Union anyway, how does that fact effect you in any way?“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

Don't get me wrong, I criticise everyone's membership of unions. For the reasons why, see above, particularly the bits about strikes, spitting, etc.
On the bright side they do seem to be in a terminal decline, and good riddance.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0 -

a picket on the strike I was on was beaten up by someone crossing picket line
I can fully understand why a worker would feel this depth of animosity towards union types but can't condone the violence.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

i try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but you are trying hard to prove tromking right.0 -
Why and they were happy to accept any benefits achieved through trade union.
Well, they clearly did feel that way, so the benefits clearly didn't outweigh the negatives in a pretty big way.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
