Really! I think what's pointless is quoting polling evidence this early in the electoral cycle......I see you chose to ignore this one as well:-
http://ukpollingreport.co.uk/blog/archives/9489
I didn't ignore that, I read every post on the blog. I think I also posted it on a thread here although can't find it now.
The polls are what they are. The difference between the one that you link to and the Com Res that I linked to is that Com Res have updated their methodology to reflect the inaccuracies shown up as a result of the General Election (put simply that a higher proportion of richer older people vote than poorer younger ones).
We'll see what happens to the ICM numbers when they update their methodology.0 -
Another day another couple of advisors appointed. One is yet another terrorist supporter, the other seems to support pretty much any party other than Labour:

Why do I get the feeling that the real skeletons in these guys' closets are yet to come out? Also, why does Mr Corbyn only seem to be appointing men as advisors? It's almost as if giving lots of junior cabinet roles to women was a fig leaf to disguise Mr Corbyn's misogyny.0 -
Another day....another controversy...
Seumas Milne appointed Labour head of communicationsLabour moderates expressed alarm because of Mr Milne’s far left views. One claimed he had never been “a Labour person” and would have been blocked in the past if he had tried to become a Labour election candidate for not sharing the party’s aims and values.Among Milne's fruitier moments in his career as a political commentator are defending Stalin against those who would put him at the same level as Hitler when ranking monsters of the 20th century; calling the Baathists and Saddamists who killed British and American troops in Iraq "resistance fighters" who were bravely trying to evict an occupying power; mourning the loss of the Soviet Union because, despite its failures, it was "a powerful counterweight to Western global domination"; and doubting the use of chemical weapons by Syrian despot Bashar al-Assad.

And a whole range of views about this controversial appointment.

White, male anti-Americans need only apply for Corbyn's team it would seem.

Even Left Foot Forward don't like himWhen fanatics kill journalists, Seumas Milne blames something else
Labour's new spin doctor made excuses for the Charlie Hebdo killers

I had a bit of a flick through his Guardian back catalogue:

It really is hard left painting by numbers journalism. Seriously, when are these guys going to stop banging on about the miners strike of 1984? It was 30 years ago and the woman they blame for it is long dead.0 -
I think a new word needs to be invented, something like bewierdering to describe what's going on.
Labour's Jeremy Corbyn to become CND vice-president
So in the first para Corbyn is Mr Vice President, in the 4th para he is not.
I wonder if confusion is infectious.
Reading the article one says Vice-President the other says Vice-Chairman0 -
Why do I get the feeling that the real skeletons in these guys' closets are yet to come out?
Probably. If you had some dirt on them, you wouldn't be using it now. You would be holding it back for the next election you think you might need it.0 -

So true.
I'm already sick of them bleating on about Redcar Steel. It's the tone they use - look at me I'm such a good person, I care about the workers - blah!0 -

The equivalent of a "cabinet" in my workplace is exclusively male. Not because my boss is an evil misogynist bar steward, but because we don't currently have any senior female academics. We don't promote people for the sake of it; the criteria are rigid and quantifiable (no of publications, completed students, research income, etc). Sometimes the best people for the job happen to be male, and in this country, probably white.
Do you really want fairly woeful politicians like Diane Abbot to be promoted, because they tick some very visible boxes? See also Baroness Warsi (not actually elected or electable as an MP) who clearly gets the airtime she does because of her ethnicity and gender rather than anything she does or says. They are an EYESORES!!!!0
