My contract is up in July. I'm currently paying approx £54 a month for:M200 Fibre Broadband
Maxit TVSky Sports and Cinema CollectionSky Sports HD PackKids Pick
Which seems like a reasonable deal based on some above? I was only offered this after actually signing up with another provider, so maybe they waited to see if I was serious about leaving and may have to do that again. The 'full price' is £132 which I'm definitely not paying!0 -
I was paying £57/month for 50MB + anytime calls. I got this down to £14/month, saving £775 over 18 months.
I was planning on leaving Virgin so I could get a good new customer offer with other providers, I didn't even intend speaking to retentions. Virgin called in response to receiving an instruction to port my landline number away from them.

Current bill £57:
Max-IT TV, Talk More Anytime and Gig1 broadband.
£28 rolling credit applied as if broadband speed is switched back over to 500mb or lower I will get max 10mb or no internet at all due to a fault in the local area - rolling credit is due to this.
Contract ends June 17 -- 18th it goes to £95
Rang retentions 16th, can only do the same package for £96.75??
Submitted cancelation.
Call today (17th) - offer same package £79 or Mix-IT + Talk Weekends + 500mb = £46.
I'm reluctant about the 500mb due to the local area fault.
If I reject the call back, will there be any further callbacks closer to the end date / can i re-accept the offers within the 30day notice period?0 -
A nice chat with the 'retentions' team - saying that I could no longer continue paying £60 per month for the M200 broadband + telephone - told them what my budget could stretch to.
Result - a £25 per month reduction for 18 months - win for me.
£450 saving over the new 18 month contract0 -
Hi naldo58
what number did you call please0 -
Samal, I used 0345 454 1111 and followed the 'press number' instructions until I got a actual human. Told them I was fed up paying 3 times as much as a new customer, that Sky & Talk-Talk were offering better deals. Stay calm, put your point across have the details for Sky, Talk-Talk etc to hand.
Tell them you're working to a revised budget (cost of living rises etc.) Stay strong, stick with it, do it with a smile. They don't want to loose you it's their job to persuade you to stay.
Good luck!1 -

Do you actually sign up to another provider, if so do they charge straight away to only once service starts?
Wondering if there is any cancellation etc.
