It's been a mad busy few days at work but finally its the weekend and I can catch up again. Today has been pretty productive already, I've tidied the flat, done some washing / dishwasher etc, the window people have replaced the windows in ds room and the door ones in the lounge, they look amazing now, well worth having done (they knocked £30 off the bill as we had it all done in one go, so £500 spent there but I'm really pleased with them). I've just got back from the gym, I did 5k on the treadmill, I was aiming for 6 but I was desperate for a wee and couldn't keep holding on so stopped at 5.

Now I'm about to take the dog round the block then have a shower before settling down for a nice afternoon of sky soccer saturday :D

Know that feeling well about being on the treadmill, usually when i'm next to a slender young lady who seems to run with no effort, i'm there thinking don't worry some day young lady you will have a body like mine, then lets see if you can run like that.x

Another mad busy day at school, not really sure where the days are disappearing to at the moment :) Since work ... Food shopping has been delivered and put away, chicken is doing its thing in the oven, dishwasher has been emptied, clean washing put away and one load put on.

I need to go and get some petrol, almost out again, and pop in to Mums, she's had new carpet laid today so I need to help her move some furniture back.

Spendwise its just tescos so far today (£53), petrol will be about £30. I need to get caught up with some work stuff tonight, busy day ahead tomorrow :o

I did kettlebells last night and loved it, I managed to use the 10kg bell for all the swings etc, its just the upper body stuff that I don't have as much strength and have to go lighter.

For those long time lurkers you may remember I did it once before, 2007, I walked most of it. This time I plan on doing it properly :D

So, I've decided on my training plan; I have spent the last couple of days researching every plan I can find, trying to decide which is the the most likely one I'll stick to etc. I've decided to go with the one on MyAsics - you basically get a personalised plan based on your age / sex / current ability etc. I will be doing 3 runs a week and still be able to do my kettlebell class on a monday. I am aiming to complete somewhere between 4hrs 45 mins and 5 hours, but when I cross that line it better start with a 4 ;):D I am being realistic and will be adopting a walk / run strategy; I want to run as much of it as possible but I am expecting to have quite a few walking breaks in there, as long as it fits in with the times I'm happy :) When I did it before we ran about 2-3 miles and then pretty much walked the rest, I don't want to do that this time, I want to know I've prepared properly and done my best. Obviously there could be injuries along the way and thats something to be expected, but right now I'm totally motivated :D

So this morning I went for a jog, my training plan kicks in properly on tuesday so this one was just to get me back out there as I realised last night how little running I've done since I hurt my ankle in July :o Anyway, I did 2.5km, and I tried the walk/run thing; I jog or 5 minutes then walk for 1. I did it in 15 minutes, so not too bad as it included 2 minutes of walking. Before I hurt my ankle I used to do it in 13 minutes. I still have the last remnants of a cold and it is a really bright crisp morning, so the cold air hurt my lungs slightly, but hey, psychologically at least I got my trainers on and got out there, now I'm ready to start my proper plan on tuesday.

It is quite scary when I look at hos quickly the mileage builds on it, but I just have to trust it to work, like the C25K plan did, and concentrate on one days training at a time and get each one ticked off. In total between now and marathon day I have 95 runs to do and a total of 536 miles  A lot of running websites say this is nowhere near enough mileage but I'm trusting the plan, and to me right now it sounds more than enough :D I will update my signature I think to keep me on track too.

Today I am meeting a friend after lunch and walking our dogs, I need to see Mum, ds has tonnes of homework to get through and I'll be cooking a yummy roast dinner later. Happy Sunday everyone :)
