Morning, yesterday was pretty busy with decorating ds room, its looks a lot different already, still more to do today. He will be back from his dads this afternoon too.

Today I need to go and get more gloss paint, go back to Ikea and change one bit of the desk  see Mum, get more of his room sorted, and generally start doing the last minute tidying and organising bits before we go back to school.

Spends today = £20 gloss paint

I also spent my M&S vouchers on a new duck / down duvet for the winter. It was £55 (20% off) so I paid £5 and used £50 vouchers. I have also ordered another £10 Boots voucher from a survey site.

I decided to wait until tomorrow for Ikea as there was an accident on the main road on the way there so traffic would've been a nightmare. The washing basket was totally empty for almost an hour but then ds came back from his Dads and half-filled it again :( The ironing pile is relatively small, the water washer bit on the car has been filled (keep vowing to do it each time I go out in the car and the screen is filthy), the water bill has been paid ... lots of silly little bits but they all give me a sense of catching up with stuff again :D

Off to think about dinner - roasted veg and cod tonight. Not sure ds or Mr S will be thrilled but I like the sound of it :D

  • Roast veg and cod sounds lovely. I have just had fish fingers with chips and peas.

Are most of your vouchers through surveys BB? That's an impressive haul you have!

Yep they are from surveys, last year I saved them all year with the intention of using them all for xmas shopping, but in the end we ordered so much online (and lots of places you can't use them online) that this year I have decided to start spending some, on nice things like the duvet, so each time I snuggle under it in the winter I can remind myself why its worth slogging through the surveys ;)

The Amazon ones just get spent on all sorts of stuff, as and when its needed. Boots ones are for the occasional treat for me, although I don't go to a Boots that often. The Sainsburys ones will probably be used for the Christmas food shopping :)

Happy Bank Holiday! This morning we have assembled the shelf part of ds new desk and been back to Ikea to change the other part. Ikea on a wet bank holiday is no fun whatsoever  I did however get £10 back as the bit we needed was smaller than the original bit so £10 cheaper ;) Anyhow, its done now, waiting for Mr S to come home to attach it all to the wall and attach the desk part for us.

I have done a Tesco order for delivery tomorrow, £62 spent again ...

Now I need to start getting some stuff back into ds room and making the most of the last few hours of summer :o

Hi BenBen, I have also followed your thread from the beginning but not posted before but I just wanyted to say hi.
I am also an L.S.A in a secondary school and the girl that I support is going into year 11, it is a hard job but also very rewarding.
I really need to take a leaf out of your book and start doing some surveys to make some extra cash, if you could point me in the right direction to the best ones I would be very grateful.
Good luck tomorrow in your first day back at school

I have cut down the number of survey sites I use these days, but then I do fill out them all for Mr S too at the moment. The ones I use are:

Pinecone (hard to find a link to join I think)
    Valued Opinions
    Global Test Market
    Ipsos
    Onepoll
    Yougov
    Newvistalive
    Opinionbar
    Panelbase
    Rewarded Opinions
    Mysurvey
Pureprofile (almost at cash out and will then bin it, has taken me years to get there!)

They are duller than dull but its worth it when you see the vouchers stack up ;) Sometimes you get invited to test products, I have been testing fabric conditioner for weeks, I have some dog food on its way and I also have some anti bacterial wipes on their way too. All helps keep my shopping bill down ;)

Sometimes you also get invited to focus groups too, I did one this summer where I got paid £45 in Amazon vouchers, they are good, you just log in and 'chat', a bit like on here but about whatever topic they give you. This one was about downloading music, I've done them in the past for soft drinks and paint :D

I find if you just do a couple of surveys here and there, while the adverts are on or while the kettle is boiling etc, then soon enough the vouchers start adding up :)

Evening all, well the first day back wasn't too bad - a bit heavy going information wise but other than that all fine. After work the Tesco shopping came (£58) and then I went to the gym for a bit, ran a mile and did 15 mins on the bike and 15 mins on the cross-trainer. It was really busy in there tonight.

Just had some soup and a roll for dinner now off for a shower then chilling time with the laptop :D Other than the food shopping it has been a nsd ;)
