Hello ... not at all Tigz, sorry things have been manic as ever! Yep, am still on fb, will pm you x
So ... Mr S is moving out this friday, the last few weeks have been a whirlwind of sorting out his new flat, trips to Ikea to get bits for him etc. My sister also had a cancer scare, luckily it looks like its benign, she's having an op to remove it at the end of November but that has been rather yucky.
The marathon training is still ongoing - I decided to change the plan I was doing, I'm now following Galloways run-walk plan, basically I do a 30 minute run on tuesdays and thursdays and then a long slow run (I can do the slow bit no problem) on a Sunday. Yesterday I did 5 miles (54 minutes) and it increases by a mile each week up to 11 then it alters slightly. My ankle is sore today though which isn't good.
So, it's half-term and with Mr S moving out this week its a pretty hectic one. I'm seeing it as a week off work to get straight and organised, the Christmas holidays can be for chillingI have written a list of bits I need to do, but getting myself a new car has shot to the top of the list as mine almost conked out yesterday and I don't feel happy driving it anymore. I have found a nice one online I'm going to go and look at today, hopefully it will be fine
My list then for this week;- Xmas shoebox
- Clear last bits out of Mums old flat
- Remove tiles from Mums new kitchen walls
- get all banking up to date
- Pay in bagged up coins at the bank
- Christmas shopping
- Write Christmas cards
- Dejunk mine and ds laptops
- Sort the garage
- Trips to the tip
- Clean the oven
- Replace plastic bit on shower door
- Dry clean duvet
- Nieces birthday present
- Ebay 10 items
- Deep clean bathroom
- Deep clean kitchen
- Dejunk iPod
- Buy new car
So far this morning I have done two loads of washing, bought a pumpkin, found the Christmas cards, tidied the lounge and kitchen, put the clean washing away, taken Mr S to the train station, walked the dog and put the rubbish out. Today I am planning on going to the shops on my road and getting some shoebox bits and pieces, taking the duvet to the dry cleaners, paying in some coins (limit per day), posting nieces birthday present, going car shopping and then seeing if there's time for much elseHappy half-term

Grrr ... so I went car shopping with my best mate who used to work for a car dealer. I found a gorgeous cream Mini, automatice, low mileage ... all was going well. Went for the test drive, agreed a price inc. part-x my car. Paperwork was done and signed, deposit paid .... and then ... he asked to drive my car and the damn thing did its juddery thing (gearbox problem) and the deal crumbled
We then had to wait 20 minutes for some other bloke to turn up as the 'salesman' didn't know how to process a refund on the card machine  I could maybe have insisted on doing the deal as we had signed the paperwork but I wouldn't have been able to collect the car until wednesday and I didnt trust them by then so cut my losses and am back to square one.
I have got the duvet done, paid in some coins and have sorted nieces present out but not yet posted it. Tomorrow morning I have an electrician coming to look at the oven and sort a timer to seet the hot water. Onwards and upwardsMortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

Hi ben, sorry to hear about the car hope you manage to sort something out soon, would it be any good to sell it to those who buy any car, we have used them a couple of times and they have been fine.
I also work at school and its half term this week, like you I have a long list of chores this week, yesterday was shopping and baking, today is oven cleaning, ironing and gardening before the rain come. So I had better put this laptop away and get moving.x:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000 -
Hi Amber, yep I think that's what I will do with it, but now I don't want the Mini from that dealer as my gut instinct just wasn't happy with them. I want an automatic small car and that really limits whats available. I also need it asap
So this morning I have changed my bed, done all the ironing and the electrician has been and fitted a timer on my hot water tank, a job I've been meaning to get done for 9 yearsSo at least now I can have hot water when I want it rather than when I remember to switch it on and wait
Just about to take the dog out for a walk, then will work on looking for a car again. I need to go and see Mum later, she's got a stinking coldMortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

So I'm off in a bit to look at a deal on a brand new car  A little bit scared as its a lot of money but I also need to get this sorted sooner rather than later. Will report back later xMortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

I went for another Corsa in the end, a used one rather than new - it all got quite confusing; they had a really good scrappage deal but only had manuals available to buy in the offer. I had to decide between a new manual which was the most basic model, or an 18 month old automatic that is the top model (heated seats etc
), £2.5k cheaper but it does have 28000 miles but still has 18 month warranty. As much as I would have preferred a brand new one I haven't driven a manual for nearly 20 years since I past my test, so the used one it is, I should be able to collect it by the end of the week. I am trading in my one and it is temperamental to say the least, so I am not driving it anywhere now unless utterly unavoidable.
So, today will be an indoors day pretty much. I have been for my run this morning, (30 minutes), my left ankle feels bruised so I will need to ice that in a minute. Other excitement in store for today includes starting to plan Christmas, I need to think what I need to buy / what my plans are for Christmas Day etc. I will have a root about in a few cupboards and find bits to pad out the xmas showbox, so far we have toothpaste/brush, wax crayons, coloured pencils, felt tips, colouring book, notebook, marbles and two soft balls. I'm sure I can find plenty of bits and pieces that ds hasn't used that could go in there, if not I will nip to the local shops and get some more bits, def. need a flannel, gloves, a comb.
Tonight I'm going out for pizza with some friends, I need to cook the chicken for ds and Mr S actually. Have a good day everyoneMortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

Morning
I collected my new car last night and it is scrummy, it has heated seats and a heated steering wheel, so is lovely and cosy
Today Mr S is moving out, we collect the keys for his new flat this morning and then will be trekking back and forth with his stuff. Its only a couple of miles away so not really a problem. I have been up since 5 as I have a throat infection, my glands are up and it kills to swallow. I have taken some tablets and its helped quite a bit but I couldnt get back to sleep, I'm sure I'll pay or it later on. I have done my tesco order to be delivered tonight and also one for Mr S to fill his cupboards a bit with basics.
We went to Tescos last night to get him a kettle and some kitchen bits and pieces (non food). I managed to pick up a wipe clean tablecloth reduced to £2.50 from £10 and a fleecy silentnight mattress protector for ds bed that was reduced from £10.50 to £1.50 :T Old habits die hard
It is absolutely peeing down here this morning so not going to be much fun in the rain but never mind. Hope you all have a good dayMortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

So Mr S has moved out, it feels very strange. I feel sad as we've had some great times but I know its the right thing to do. I am absolutely shattered which isn't helping me stop feeling odd, I think I need a hot bath and an early night. Already though my flat feels like mine again, less cluttered and less hectic.Mortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

Glad that you have managed to get through today fairly OK. Throat infections make you feel lousy anyway so take time to relax and recover."These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0
