Had a letter from my solicitor today to say he has prepared the draft contract and sent it to my buyers solicitor - considering it as only last Monday my offer was accepted I'm pretty impressed with the speed this seems to be moving so far :D

Thanks Smallholdingsister :D I have done the ironing and that has been put away, ds is feeling a bit off today, hoping it's not the sausages we ate last night :o Anyway, he's announced he's having a duvet day, so that means I can crack on with bits and pieces from the list.

Off now to take a load to the tip, pay in the £1 coins and buy a new washing-up bowl. Really must get the W key sorted as I have to keep going back and filling in the gaps where it hasn't worked

So I did those bits this morning and then lots has happened ...

    1. My estate agent called to say my buyers solicitor has confirmed receipt of the draft contract and has started their searches

    2. I emailed my solicitor to see if they have received the draft contract from my sellers solicitor

    3. They replied 5 minutes later to say yes, and they have copied stuff for me to collect or they can post ( I live about 10 doors from them), so I said I'd go and collect it

    4. 2 workmen turned up and began measuring the stairs outside - the landlord has confirmed the work is being done, anyway it turns out they are practically replacing all the stairs, starting in a couple of weeks, so I called my estate agent to update them so they could let my buyers know it's going ahead

    5. I collected the paperwork from the solicitors and it had the various forms from my sellers in, and there are some nice surprises in there; they are leaving their cooker - it looked very old but it means I can make do with that for a bit until I get one sorted ;) They are also leaving their rotary line (not a huge expense but another thing I don't need to go and buy). The conservatory still has 3 years guarantee left but the best bit - they had a brand new boiler put in 2 years ago and it has 8 years left on its guarantee :D At least that should mean my central heating is fine and dandy ;):)

All looking good here right now :D:D

  • Thats really good. Rotary lines are a faff to install properly so having it ready done is great.
