It's not a proper one Small, the garden is mainly brick paving and the rest is astroturf, so this is basically one that looks like it's been cut in half and attached to the wall
Looks a bit like this:
I won't get much on it but it will come in handy

So today I'm going on a scout about to try and find some cardboard boxes. I may have removal men rather than doing it myself this time, but I don't need to pay for the packers too as I really don't have much stuff. I also really don't want to pay for cardboard boxes, most places online they seem to be roughly £1 each  So after a bit of googling for adive I'm off to do a tour of local supermarkets / Homebase / McDonalds / industrial sites to see if I can scrounge some for nothing
I have already packed about 4 boxes, mainly xmas stuff that isn't going to be needed in the short-term. Mortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

If you are going to use removal men they will probably supply the boxes for you. Depending on the size of the company will depend on whether or not they charge you for the boxes.
We recently moved and got several removal quotes - bigger companies would have provided boxes, packing materials and tape as part of the cost, smaller companies would provide packing materials and tape but would have charged for the boxes at £1 each and another would have charged £1 for each box not returned within a month of moving. Due to our circumstances we actually ended up putting most of our stuff in storage and we hired a van and moved ourselves!
Good luck!0 -
Thank you Tiggermad, I have never used removal men before, always hired a van and done it ourselves. I did go and collect a few boxes today but didn't have much luck, but then my best mate called - her other half is a mechanic and todays job was to service a lorry for a local removal firm. He got talking to the guy and he's dropping off some boxes for me on Monday

The flat is all clean and tidy ready for my buyers to come and visit again tomorrow, I just need to hoover through in the morning and take the rubbish out.
Tomorrow while they are here I am going to pop to our nearest BHS and see if there are any sale bargains, we have a homeware store so fingers crossed I might find a couple of nice lamps or some new towels or something
Spends today were £4 on some carrots, coleslaw, chocolate milkshake and fabric conditioner. Also gave ds £10 when he went out with his mate. He's still at the stage of spending every penny of whatever I give him  He'll learn

Today I've been for a mooch around the shops as my buyers were coming for another look at the flat. I returned a pair of trousers (£14), bought ds 2 t-shirts (£8), me a top (£6), new sugar/tea/coffee jars (£18) and a photo frame (£5) some dog food (£3) some bits in poundland (£4).
I picked up the dog from Mums as she's gone away for the weekend and the pair of us are mooching on the sofa this afternoon

So this afternoon I've been out with the dog for a walk. For those of you who have been around here a while you may remember I used to deliver leaflets / junk mail on a weekly basis, well most of the spare ones were picked up by the company but somehow I ended up with about 6 boxes left over in my garage. Now it's commercial waste so I can't just take it to the tip and I can't even remember the name of the company (and I can't really call them after a couple of years and ask them to collect as any leftovers were meant to go back on a weekly basis).
So, I have bagged up three boxes into carrier bag size amounts and have done a tour of all the recycling bins in various local car parks and got rid of them all tonight. However I'm still left with 3 boxes which are ones we tried to have a bonfire with at Mums ages ago, they wouldn't burn properly as they are that coated stuff, so all the singed / charred remains are in boxes. I can't put that in the paper waste so I'm guessing I just randomly add a bit to each bin liner of rubbish I put out over the next few weeks and get rid of it that way??
I also have 1.5 boxes full of samples of a liquid thing you put in the wash that makes your jackets etc waterproof .. again I have no idea how / where to get rid of these. I don't really want to give them away as they obviously belonged to a company at some point. Any suggestions??
At least it's gradually clearing a corner of my garage for me though
I've decided against the car boot tomorrow as the weather forecast says 50% chance of rain in the morning. I use accuweather which gives an hourly forecast and it is amazingly accurate, I've been using it for a while now and I trust it a lot.
So, tonight / tomorrow I plan to get more done / sorted in the garage, I think the flat won't be too bad packing wise but the garage could be slightly different, so the more I can get sorted as we go the easier it will be

Morning all, someone in my village has posted on freecycle that they have a load of moving boxes / bubble wrap so I have emailed and am waiting to hear if I've been lucky

The sun is out at the moment so I am going to go an crack on with the garage and aim to clear one corner of it completely today. Most of what is in there is stuff I need, I do sort it out quite regularly, but it needs grouping / boxing up etc.
Other than that it is a getting ready for going bac to work kinda day today
