Has anyone had any luck getting a decent deal without cancelling or threatening to cancel?

    Here's my experience so far

I got an email saying that my subscription which has been discounted to £27 per month until now will be going up by £2.80. But my next bill shows as £38.50

I used the facebook messenger app to chat with someone at Sky about this who explained that my deals had expired which is why I'm now paying full whack and to check the offers page for something better, I said this doesn't actually reduce my bill just lets me purchase addons to an already inflated bill

When I signed up I am 100% certain the person I spoke with from Sky said the discount would apply for life, but the person I chatted with today said that Sky lifetime discounts do not exist. So I'm guessing it was a lie by the first Sky person

She referred me to teammate about 3 hours ago and no-one has responded since then

    Will try calling them tomorrow

    ‘Hello,

We'd love for you to come back, so we’re offering you the best of Sky – Sports, Cinema and Entertainment for just £36 a month for 18 months (there may be a £10 one‑off fee.*)

Journey to Isla Nublar with raptor wrangler Chris Pratt to save endangered dinos in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Take a trip to Monte Carlo for the prestigious Monaco Grand Prix. And visit Westeros to see if your favourite character survives the sure-to-be-shocking finale of Game of Thrones.’

If I could afford it, I would jump at it, can add box sets for a quid too, and HD for another quid. Ah well.

    Use the online web chat.
It takes a while for them to get round to chatting with you but they tend to offer better deals so it may be worth the wait.
Got nowhere on that apart from "Sorry nothing available".

Sky now only market Sky Fibre Max and copper Broadband Unlimited.

They have no published deals if you are on fibre up to 40MBs.

Sky is well down on comparison sites at the moment because of this.

And very strange marketing as there is not only a significant number of potential new customers but also the upsetting of their existing loyal customers already on 'ordinary' fibre whose line is unable to receive the Fibre Max.

I've been with sky for 19 years. My basic Entertainment package was going to increase to £27 per month. Cancelled a couple of weeks ago, just called them and negotiated same deal at £11 per month for 18 months plus £10 admin charge. Last time I got it at £13 per month + £40 credit but that was only for 12 months.

Tried calling them and got through to the value department, the best they could do was £3/month off, so said I wanted to cancel

The first offer the cancellations team offered was £27/month (no mention of an admin fee but probably will charge it anyway) for the next 18 months and to be unaffected by the April price rise but still be subject to any mid term price rise

I'm thinking if their first offer is £27 month, they can do better

Will see if I can do better than that but the chat service isn't offering any better than that and mentions a £10 admin fee on top

    Is that with HD ?

No HD, but does include the imminent price rise. My TV does such a good job of upscaling I can't tell the difference between standard and HD on sky. Maybe its my eyesight.

Called 3rd time, this time the best price they could do was £28/month for 18 months including the April price rise. Sky agent explained that the previous note for £27/month was prior to the price hike and would have increased to £28/month anyway next month

This is the same deal I eventually got over Facebook messenger with Sky yesterday, but it took longer to get there. In both cases had to get through to cancellations team

My old package is the Original package, the new basic package is the entertainment package which includes some extra documentary channels as well but is otherwise the same

The agent said a home move will be included for free during this time and that Sky can only raise the price again after 12 months by 10% (so worst case I would end up stuck paying £30.80/month for the last 6 months). A home move which involves installing a dish will incur a charge and need to check with the home move team as their offers vary

There is a £10 admin charge but part of this will be refunded in the next bill

Once I got through to the cancellations team and they offered me a deal which was close to my current expired one, there was no difference in the offer between different people in the same team regardless of time of day or phone vs chat app. The only difference was how much detail the offer was explained in

At that price do you have multiroom? The standard entertainment package is only 25 in contract, 27 out of contract. I believe you have 14 days to change your mind.
