Well done SnowWhite and good luck with the job hunting FVD.
Well the brown envelope arrived this morning and we have been overpaid slightly on our tax credits so we will now receive the grand total of ... £20 a month!!!
I am going to try and find out if there is anything else that DS might be entitled to, assuming he isnt in education which is highly unlikely. We will be left with £60 a week to pay for things like shoes, clothes, dentist, holidays/birthdays/christmas, haircuts, mobiles and anything else that crops up.
Still at least we can cover the basics eh?0 -
Huge congratulations SnowWhite :j:j:jNot giving up

Maybe check out the EntitledTo online calculator? (Link)
And check out Turn2Us' advice on young people's entitlements. (Link)

Well done Snow White. I take my hat off to anyone who can pass GCSE maths. I have both a BA & MA degree, but could I pass GCE maths? I could not! First attempt was a big fat 'U' for ungraded. Had a further year of lessons with a decent teacher, retook it............& got another 'U'. My own fault. I could do so few of the questions I just wrote silly answers!
So am a maths dunce (except for budgeting, lol)
A big well done from me anyway.

Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!0 -

Hello all
Late check in as a busy day at the shop. Complete opposite to yesterday. The lovely Mr Bob fitted the new part today and the sound of silence has never been so wonderful. Thanks very much to all of you for the kind words yesterday and today.
Snow white - huge congratulations on your maths results.
Foxgloves - I think most people would be like you and your OH really regarding how they spend on food each month. If you can crack spending in similar amounts each time then it is great having some for treats right when you need them at the end of the month.
Determined - well done on your awesome Grocery budgeting too. £3 over is hardly worth the mention.
Hannah - hope you survived?
Carrie- now have an image of you as Bree Van Derkamp in desperate housewives stylee
My list for the day.
1. Have had £2.50 loaded onto my nectar card after I complained to Mr S HQ about the poor show at my local branch.
2. Used a 52p brand match voucher for my business shopping. And earned another one for 72p.
3. There was around £2.50 in my tips jar today until 6 year old liberated it.
4. Reconciled both sets of bank accounts and made a £7 PAD to the business CC.
5. Uploaded 3 reciepts to COS for 15p when they are credited I will be over the payout limit and so can do a PAD to our card. Only £54 left on it now.
6. Cycled the usual 7 miles. I had quite a scary near miss when a silly young lad around 17 came at me on a scooter on my side of the road close to a junction. He hadn't seen me at all. I yelled at him.
7. Made a big pot of mince which has so far done one child's tea sized portion.
8. Lamb grill steaks for our tea. They are massive. And only £2 for the pack so well eat like kings for £1 each tonight. Defrosting a pack of 18p white baps (4 in pack) that I nabbed in a killer YS haul the other night
9. Will also use some of the 1.5 kilo pack of spuds I got YS for 35p to do some sauted potatoes.
10. OH doing the fix at the shop saved £100 call out and probably £65 in parts, for a £13 part on ebay.
And that's me
Night all

[STRIKE]15 mins housework and declutter[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]set up DS freeview box that I got cheap from gumtree[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]check banking - still waiting for my service plan refund from past car[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]write letter to Virgin trains (they've been fabulous and I intend to let them know)[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]check for surveys[/STRIKE]
if I decide to go out, go to the bank and pay cheque and house savings box in
[STRIKE]all meals from stores (may need to grocery shop tomorrow)[/STRIKE]
read at least 3 chapters of my book
[STRIKE]don't stress about my school's exam results - I am only one person.[/STRIKE]
A fairly successful day all in all. I didn't go out in the end so didn't pay my cheque in, and I've spent a lot of time looking through YNAB so haven't sat down to read yet. Still time before I go to bed though.
Ordered the groceries online - I got an email from My Supermarket offering me £5 cash back with my next order, so I'll be clicking and collecting at Mr T tomorrow and then topping up in Aldi if I need to tomorrow (shortly before the vet appointment to add more to the debt).
Bob - pleased that you've finally gotten some peace and quiet, and pleased you're ok after such a near missNot giving up
