Thursday 20th August - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free!

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending!

So be proud of those small steps, they really important! :money:

    THanks Dnms. You are sounding very determined this morning, good luck!
  • Oh legomum I feel your pain Had the worst cold/chest infection for well over a week now, the cough just won't ease. So I hope you are feeling better soon.

    Yesterday was actually a good day I had a good sort and reorganise of the kitchen especially the drawers, they are no longer a disaster zone. Also ploughed ahead with shredding paper mountain is very cathartic de cluttering and organising :D.

    Today there is really only one thing on my list:

    * go to college and get maths gcse results :eek:

    Have been a bit in limbo since finishing access course end of June so am really looking forward to finding out if I can take my place at uni or whether it means looking at other courses I can do while working which means getting a job. Just be nice to know so I can make a plan, I like making plans ha :cool:

    Anyway hope everyone has a good day :)

    Morning all, Lego Mum, good luck with your day.

    Am in work since 7 here catching up from yesterday.
    It will be a 100% work day rather than a MSE day as I have a big work thing to consider. The outcome affects lots of us so let the pondering begin!
    Am so please with yesterday shortening 2 pairs of suit trousers, I have now got a wearable work suit instead of stuff on the hanger unworn. Feel like a guru...

    Good luck with any results for grown ups and small peoples!

    Have a fun day all.
    Maria. x

    Morning DFW-ers,

    Thanks for the (early) starter Lego Mum.

    Dowd Towers should be a little quieter today. Hopefully I'll be able to stay in for the most par.

    Nillionaire Month Three:

    * Job-seeking.

    * Uploaded receipts.

    * Repair only smart-looking watch. It's not valuable but it looks nice. Went to put it on for a job interview to find it wasn't working. Battery had corroded. Need to clean it up with an emery board and some chemicals to hopefully get it to run again.

    * Eat the pizza we bought on offer yesterday. (Link)

    * Chase Homebase who are ignoring our complaint about a Strimmer that fell apart after a couple of uses. Have gone through the fre MSE Resolver tool website. I recommend this tool. It worked for me a couple of weeks ago. (Link)

    * See if my new emergency-only-credit-card company have enabled the payments TO the card yet.

    * Go for a free run later if the mood takes me.

    Probably be back later...
    ...and here I am:

    * Positive phone call about a job. Passed an occupational screening exam and am now being considered for second round of interviews for two jobs.

    * Received Lidl loyalty card in the post. Gives £5 off a £25 spend until 28th October.
