I hope you get the stuff to work :)

Something has happened with my netbook - it's a Sammy so I went playing with some of their pre-installed bloatware - which ended up re-installing the Windows Update Agent and after a reboot Checking for Updates is working again and telling me that there are 191 important updates and 10 optional ones to install :rotfl: I love doing factory resets, always hours of fun and entertainment...

Updated to windows ten. Didn't like it so reverted to windows 7.

So now I'm stuck with the original issue or updates hanging.

Have you tried a boot into safe mode then a restart?

    Yes, tried that yesterday.

I also now can't get updates to the MSE anti virus either. Says the last update was the 18th and it's been stuck on downloading updates for the last two hours.

    I give up.

Just done a complete reinstall and it still won't work.

All I have installed is MSE.

    I'll live without windows updates.

    One antivirus. Microsoft security essentials.

Zip all else right now as its a fresh install.

    Usually MSE and spybot.

    Everything.

The look. The feel. How slow it made my laptop.
