Morning :hello:
This is a bit early for me on a Saturday but I'm awake so I probably ought to get a few odds and ends done around the flat.
Off to the Proms later. There are actually three concerts today and I am going to two of them - probably won't bother with the third, as it's a late-night concert, and what I need is an EARLY night
Happy birthday tired mum :bdaycake:
((((Hugs)))) to Crazychik and alibob
Was supposed to go to the supermarket yesterday but ended up in a bar with my colleagues all evening insteadI did pop into mini Sainsburys on the way home, and got most of the stuff that couldn't wait, but I still ought to go out this morning with the wally trolley if only to take a load of stuff down to the recycling bank. The collection of jars, tins and bottles by the sink is a big contributor to the clutter in here, and I have loads of paper too after having a bit of a sort-out the other day.
Also need to get the "normal rubbish" out as it's bin day.
See you later
Love Rzl xx :wave:Operation Get in Shape

Good morning everyone!! A wet and windy one here today...again. Didn't post yesterday was feeling really down with the kids all they seem to do is squabble over the same things everyday and it's really starting to get to me. Anyway my sister is taking DS3 out today to give us all a break, he has autism and we love him dearly but he is hard work. I feel for the other three kids because he is extremely demanding with them too. DH came home from work early yesterday and took all four of them out a couple of hours and i absoulotly blitzed the house, i was like a woman possessed, and by the time they all came home, i was calm and composed again. Don't often have 'moments' like that but when i do everyone knows to clear the room!!! Going to do my irnoning today and tidy out the airing cupboard. WM is on, breakfast dishes are done and all beds are made.Going to bath all the kids now and wash dd hair DOH!! She hates having it washed and screams the whole house down. Will catch up later SharronSometimes your the dog, and sometimes your the lampost..:p0

not a great start to my weekend. internet has been playing up.
the car overheated last night. didnt risk opening the bonnet when it was so hot, just been out to look and there is no water in the radiator. was only serviced last week! garage is just round the corner so will take it round later. car is only two years old so the radiator shouldnt be leaking at this stage. wonder if they havent tightened up something...
pouring with rain, so no gardening today. will only wash essentials as trying to cut down on tumble dryer use.
waiting for repeat delivery of school trousers from Next, hope these ones come.
will do some food shopping later once the car is sorted.x x x0 -
Hi everyone.
Woke quite early for a Saturday-- just as OH was leaving for work. Only 9 days to go to retirement!!!!!:T :T :T
I think panic set in for me yesterday as I hardly ever go to Mt T's but just thought it would be easier as we have got visitors coming but I was walking around thinking " Well I had better buy that and Squirrel it away " as soon the income will go down by half. So I ended up spending miles more than I normally would and had to put the spare freezer on!!! It's all stuff that I will use though so will probably help us get over the first few weeks whilst the pension is getting sorted.
It seems funny to be talking bout pensions as OH is only 52.
Well wet and horrible today but I have just whisked the Hoover around quicly as DD2 arrived home with the milkman ( not literally ) and has gone to bed for a few hours before her Saturday job in the local pub. It is lovely to see her get her life back on track with her girl mates as she has had very bad time with partner-- now ex partner. She did not deserve his behaviour and I am not being biased.
So Happy birthday Tired Mum-- Have a great one:j
Crazychick-- hope yoou get off on holiday
Jockettuk-- hope all goes well at the hospital
Alibob -- Won't be long now. What an exciting time.
Good wishes to everyone celebrating and kind thoughts to anyone feeling sad.
I am off to make marrow chutney as the courgettes have escaped whilst I wasn't looking in this rain.
It's lovely though so don't mind.
Poor MIL had a fall last night so must go and get some flowers and check on her.0 -
Morning all,
Hope you all had a good night.
Had a lovely takeaway to celebrate DH's HGV test :T
Had a phone call from a friend in the evening. She has just separated from her husband and he has now told her that he's been seeing someone at work. She was so distraught and her daughter ( my DD's friend) is reacting v badly. I felt so innadequate as I am hopeless with relationship advice. I only had one boyfriend and I married him! I felt immense guilt as she said " oh you are so lucky you found Mr Right first time". That's silly though isn't it!?
Not much on today. DH is going to go to driving agencies to see if he can get some extra work at weekends. I am a bit unhappy at the thought because he works SO hard all week ( up at 5am , home at 9pm). He wants to get some practice on the HGV and earn some much needed extra dosh! He says let him do it while he's young and fit , but I feel really guilty. I do my bit as I look after the home and 2 OS and I work 20 hrs a week during term time in a uni library. Compared to him though feels like I have a really cushy time!
Really thinking about a SERIOUS attempt at weight loss again. I have lost 9 st a couple of years ago , but it's gone back on). I like a good day to start so I can work up towards it. Was thinking about 1st Sept. Anyone fancy joining in? I'll need alot of moral support as it's another 9 that needs to go!!

Good morning everyone,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIERD MUM
((hugs)) to Crazychik - i know what exes are like, this is the second year he hasnt seen the children during the school holidays, saw them for a few hours in June, and will see them for the day at the begining of September!!!
Another day with nothing planned, money situation at the moment is very bad, so we need to stay home, so im not tempted to use my cards anywhere!!! Still need to find a new LO to replace the one that starts school in September, but nothing at the moment, so starting to get a bit panicky. Would everyone keep their fingers crossed that something turns up soon, i can pay my mortgage in September, but after that i dont think i can, unless i get a new one!!!
Anyway, enough of the moaning, well maybe not, its tipping down with rain, so children wont even be able to play outside today, and im going to have to try and dry the washing indoors again, what a wonderful summer it has been!!!
Well, im going to have my weetabix and then a shower - hope everyone has a lovely day,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Good Morning all! I had a small lie-in, not sure why, I dont DO anything ,as you all know!
Got friends coming over tonight to try out my new racleete I bought, thanks to you lot on here. They are bringing some of the food' not sure what we'll end up eating.
Also tried to find a trifle bowl, and couldn't find one anywhere - the usual comment was' oh, haven't sold one of those for years!' at John Lewis, Lakeland etc. strange I think. GOt to use a mixing bowl for my trifle tonight.....
(((HUGS)) to any who need one!0 -
odds-n-sods - try a pound shop or cheap ironmonger-type place for your trifle bowl. I found a suitable one somewhere similar.

Good morning :j ! Raining here, so we'll be catching up on the indoor jobs, I think. DH has taken the Small Penguins to Swim Club, and I've been continuing with making waistcoats for DS and DH for the wedding we're at on Friday.
Our friends who are getting married are coming over later, to discuss hair and flowers with DD, as she's an usher. Will be lovely to see them, as we probably won't get much of their time at their wedding. Was really pleased to get some old (1930's) B&W photos for them from the internet. There's one of our town (where they used to live) and one of the National Trust property where they're getting married.
Making lentil and bacon soup for lunch, then neck of lamb O/N in the SC for tomorrow's tea.
Just got a veggie cookbook (that I bought 2nd hand from Amazon) through the post. Really good condition - bargain :T
Happy Birthday to Tired Mum!
Great to see you back, JackieO!
Have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0
