Out of curiosity, how many subscribers do you have for your Youtube channel?
Good luck with everything :T
Your right, i don't think we can cut our bills any further than we have.
I have about 1300 subscribers, but most of my views come from youtube searches. I do mostly technology reviews, so everything from vacume cleaners and Blenders to computers and TV's. I also do some tutorials and game videos. My best viewed video is a pressure washer! I get about 2000 views a day.Mortgage Free 22/03/17

I'm so very inspired by you two! Need to up my side hustle game. Started OPing on mortgage but so wish we'd done it before having children, like you.
Well done and you've piqued my interest in matched betting!0 -

Wow that's fantastic, how long have you been doing it? Do you get all the 'things' free too?
I enjoy writing my blog although I don't currently make any money except a few pounds here and there. I could never do you tube, I have a face for radio! I know a person who I've met in my real job who makes millions doing you tube make up tutorials. She did a vlog in our shop once and we sold out online of the thing she pointed out within 24 hours and 100's of thousands views. It's another world it really is.
I get about 100-200 visits per day and even got 300 one day! I'm pleased with that! I find it difficult to believe that many people want to read it!
I would love to do airbandb but with a messy 6 year old and 2 noisy dogs in a dooer upper house I can't imagine getting many visitors even though we live a very touristy and very scenic area! When completely renovated we could rent out for 1000's per week in the summer and might move out or go away for the summer holidays when the little one is older :-)0 -

Side hustle is great and im glad your feeling inspired. Do you do anything on the side at the moment?
Give it a go! matchedbettingblog.com is a good place to start. I only do the super simple deals. Mostly the BET365 ones where you get a free in game bet if you place a pre match bet.Mortgage Free 22/03/17

I have been doing it for a couple of years so not exactly massive growth! Some videos get loads of views, some get hardly any, its a lottery! I get a few things for free for review, but most of the stuff is stuff we have bought for ourselves or friends have bought and let me review.
I think what your doing is the right way of doing it. You have to enjoy writing or making videos to have the motivation to do it. Keep going and the views will grow.
Kids and dogs would probably put us off, but it might not everyone? Sounds like a fantastic idea to rent out your place and use the money for your holiday. We are going to do something similar during the cheltenham festival. Rent out the spare room and main room and sleep on the sofa bed in the tiny 3rd bedroom to keep an eye on everyone!Mortgage Free 22/03/17

Currently only ebay! Will look into matched betting tonight. I did used to run French classes for little ones, quite a good side hustle but more of a commitment than I want!0

Hi all, thoughts I would check in, sadly it doesn't look like we will be able to save much if anything this month....but on the plus, we've just booked a holiday for next year! So it looks like the majority of this months savings will be spent on the flights, accomm etc....
This may put us back a month on our journey, but i'm hoping that with the next 19 months or so we may be able to make up some of it.0 -
Hi guys! Bit of a discussion topic we are looking for some advise on...
The big plan has always be to pay off the current house, have a kid or two and then move to something a bit bigger when we need it (maybe in 8-10 years?). Our current house is 3 bedrooms, but the 3rd room is tiny.
Now i wonder, with house prices going up and our income going down / expenditure going up when we have kids in a couple of years, would we be better off stretching ourselves now to get the forever home?Mortgage Free 22/03/17

I'm in a similar situation to you - 3 bed house including a box room - but with a kid on the way right now(!)
It's worth examining your need for a larger house even with a child or two. Would you rather have the extra money in 5-10 years time to spend on other things - holidays, days out, extra activities - or would you value an extra few square metres in each bedroom? We've come to the conclusion that unless we end up with three or more children we have enough space where we are now, and being mortgage free in ~6 years will allow us the freedom to do whatever we want.0 -
hmm tricky. If it was me...I'd go bigger house now while you have the money to do so. I'd have liked to stay home with my son when he was born but that's not how things worked out for us, I needed to work. As a result by the time he starts reception, his 3 years in nursery will have cost us £28000.
You have the luxury (and believe me once you have kids you'll know what a luxury it is!) of free time - you could even consider a bit of a do-er up-er while you have the resources (both financially AND time wise, REALLY don't underestimate how valuable that time is!) to sort it out.0
