In january we can overpay 10% of the outstanding balance which will be about 8k. The rest can be overpayed in October 2016 when our fixed term ends and we are unrestricted. Its all going in ISA's at the moment!Mortgage Free 22/03/17

The only problem you might face is when the mortgage gets lowers 10% is not much. How long would the deal be? We shot ourselves a little bit in the foot with a 5 year deal as its held back our overpayments.Mortgage Free 22/03/17

Have subscribed to this - Good luck to both of you, think this is going to be quite an inspirational thread!
Think I might have a look at Airbnb, have a couple of spare rooms and bathrooms (Why/How the OH convinced me to get a house with 4 bathrooms for us two is beyond me) so it might be time they helped me pay the mortgage they have caused,0 -

Monday Morning! Huzzah!
Had a little Airbnb brucey bonus on saturday night. After a lost in translation mix up, our guests had someone unexpected with them that needed a place to stay. We sold him our sofa bed for the night for £25! With the original room booking thats £57 for the night!Mortgage Free 22/03/17

What a bonus. After reading your diary this is something we are thinking about giving a go in a few years, unfortunately we are not in a position to do it now.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Its basically what is allowing us to do such big overpayment savings as it pays most of the bills outside of the mortgage. Well worth giving it a try!Mortgage Free 22/03/17
