Just had an 11 night airbnb booking for October from a fella that stayed with us before. He spends most of his time visiting his OH in the area so is hardly at our house. Perfect!

Thats £469 of bookings for 18 nights in October so far! MissW is very pleased she was almost dancing

    Happy Wednesday everyone!

MissW's payday was yesterday and after lots of expenses this month the total saving into the pot for September is £1200. A lot lower than usual (about half our target), but we have had loads of extra expenses this month!

    - Paid for the flights for next years New York / San Francisco adventure.
    - Renewed our house and contents insurance,
    - MissW has bought some new glasses and prescription sunglasses as her prescription has changed.

Gonna have to up the side hussle game next month to make up for it! I'm determined to sort the garage as i'm sure there is over a hundred pound worth of my old toys. A remote control car is looking the prime suspect there.

Interesting update on my youtube channel...even though I run a technology channel, a company has asked me to do a review of a posh wash bag. Strange! But all free stuff is welcome! I want to try and make this video and another tutorial by the end of the month.

I will update with september side hussle totals on October 1st. This year is flying by!

  • Hi all,

I am quite pleased with our savings this month as I didn't think we'd be able to make any:)

Yes we are going to have a good sort out of the garage this weekend and put anything valuable that we don't want/need up on the bay of e. Also I quite fancy doing some baking this weekend so definitely looking forward to all this weekend could hold.

Our plan for next month's saving is to hit our regular target and try and get a bit more on top. It will be tough as our accommodation for our holiday comes out of next month's cc bill, but we have already set aside over half of it so I'm going to remain optimistic.

    :)

Some fantastic news on friday! Misswillow got a payrise! We are going to put most of the extra money into the overpayment pot but I think we need to go out for a lovely meal to celebrate soon! We already had a cheeky takeaway on saturday to celebrate!

Wahoo to Miss Willow on the pay rise :)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Its the 1st of the month so that means its time for the monthly side hustle update for september!

Airbnb £564 - Not quite a record month but close! We already have £527 worth of bookings for september.
Adsense from youtube £53.35 - Not made a single new video this month. Very slack!
Amazon affiliates from youtube £31.43 - Much improved, mainly down to a couple of vacume cleaners being sold!
Solar Panels £69.38 - Nice sunny month but this is going to start going down now we are heading into winter.
Not done any matched betting this month as there hasnt been any "Simple" ones that I like

Thats a total of £718.16 income outside of our salarys. Almost double last months but thats all down to luck with airbnb picking up. Very handy that the rugby world cup has been in town so weve had some people staying for that.

Two things im planning on doing to improve this in the comming month..

    1) Make at least two youtube videos. No plans on anything new gadget wise so might have to be tutorials.
    2) Clear out the garage and stick my old toys on ebay / selling groups. Ive got a remote control car i think will get me about £50-100.

Thats all folks! What are you going to do in October to up your income?
