The reason I said sachets of hot chocolate was for the friendship reason, on d of e the weather was so bad and they all huddled up with the 12 sachets (different flavours) I had given DD. might be good for homesickness / after a night out etc.
Not so sure for boys thoughNever again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0 -
For luxuries, how about a kindle or slow cooker?0

I would have died if my mother put a packet of condoms into a survival box.
Specially if I was in a relationship already0 -

A huge mug. Packets of instant noodles. Baby wipes. A tin of dry shampoo, hair bands and a brush. (Boys too)
Another bottle opener that'll attach onto a key ring.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Definitely loads of toiletries as these are expensive - also washing powder - again expensive - sent daughter some Pizza express vouchers (converted tesco vouchers so not 'real' money and they went down well. She also loved krafts macaroni cheese - kinda a 'real' meal without too much work!0

I was given the tabs instead of powder because of how heavy it can be to carry.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

I would suggest vouchers for some good restaurants. If your daughter isn't keen on drinking like a lot of people were including me, it's nice to have an alternative to a nice evening out having a meal rather than going out out. If she is into baking, some pound shops and cheaper shops do good sets of baking equipment she could use and not worry about breaking/losing them. I'd also suggest a good quality duvet and bedding set, because there is nothing worse than a day full of lectures/seminars/library session then having to get into bed on a mattress as thin as cardboard. How will she be getting to uni from her halls? Could you preload some sort of transport card so she doesn't have to worry about it for the first couple of weeks whilst it's manic registering for things and finding out where stuff is? Also if she's in a completely different city could you get her one of those passes that some cities do which give you entry into some of the main attractions so she could learn more about where she is and feel more comfortable?0

Toiletries, herbs, spices, emergency chocolate stash lol. I have friends who went away from uni and they always wished they had things like this. Oh cheap board games. Friends loved these as didn't cost them a penny to have fun and could stay in.“I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.”

Why? Better to be realistic and practical than head in sand "ooh, vicar, they won't be doing THAT sort of thing":rotfl:0
