Ninth Anniversary 1,000 Posts I've been Money Tipped!
I will be dropping my youngest child off at University in September and I have done a survival box for the older kids. My ideas are a bit stale now though so I would be grateful if anyone could give me some inspiration!

I do a large box and will include: Bluetack, beer, wine, amazon gift voucher, condoms, post it notes, pot noodles, chocolate, crisps, nuts, magazines, stamps, envelopes, battteries, emergency cash.

Any more ideas? Any ideas how to present it in a fun way?

tin opener, bottle opener, corkscrew, screwdriver.

Have a look in your kitchen drawers and look at all the stuff you don't use often but would be really stuck without when you need one and realise you haven't got one!

    Secret stash of toilet paper!

    Scissors, nobody ever remembers scissors.

I wouldn't bother with stamps and envelopes these days.
  • Thanks, some great suggestions, I have added them to my list. I was also thinking of items that would be "luxuries" or would be a talking point to encourage friendships or stuff for sharing for the same reason.

Big box of cupcakes? Vouchers for Dominos/Papa Johns/Just Eat?

Everybody always loves the student who brings the Breville toastie maker and lets everybody share it. Unless things have changed a great deal in the last 8 years!
  • I have a Breville gathering dust and taking up room in the cupboard, new home found!
