Good evening, I didn't get around to posting a list for today but I have been busy with paid stuff, cutting the grass and dealing with deliveries of a new chest of drawers for ds1's bedroom and a new bed for my room. I am just going to update my list and then get an early night.

Monday Mayhem: A bit of everything!
Starting upstairs, work your way through the house with that feather duster (or whatever you have). Dust and deweb, as far through as you like / need.
    S&S a sink or two.
Follow your dust trail with the vacuum cleaner, only lift it upstairs if it's safe to do so.
    S&S a toilet or two.
Empty / clean filter and set a hot wash on WM and/or DW (do you need salt? I think my DW needs a top up
Clear kitchen worktops and wipe down.
Wipe out the fridge and stick any grot in the compost / bin.
    Shine your sink

Give your DR table a polish and change the tablecloth if needed.
    Wipe down the chairs too.
To the cooker - give the hob a good shine!
And the oven too, if you've any steam left!
    Mop a floor or two.

Fed up this morning, for lots of reasons which I wont bore you with. Flying has gone a bit awry this week but the house looks reasonably OK. Looks like a wet day today so OH was talking about taking the day off.

Will see what the plan is later.

Morning everyone - quick read of thread and most of it has gone in one eye and out the other!
    .
Bargainhunterss I do SW so will reply to your SW query and sure Iona will when she sees it.

You get a booklet from SW when you join which gives all the basics and access to their website with thousands of recipes so you don't have to buy a cook book or sw meals ( from the Ice shop) or their magazine or anything - they are purely optional.

We are still having our usual home cooked meals - tweaked to make more SW or sinned. eg we still have corned beef hash!! but I use a no cal spray in which to fry the onions rather than oil or butter and sin any butter used in the mash topping. I was worried that it would cost more as such a lot of fruit and veg - but you can get so much of that for little money that there has been a reduction in our spending and a huge increase in health benefits. Previously at risk of type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, high BP so risk of heart attack and stroke and now all OK or the lowest risk possible!!!

Hope that helps. (ETA I am 5+ stone lighter than I was less than 2 years ago and have been steady at target for 6 months)

Horrid weather forecast today so plan to be in all day doing " the devil and all"

I'll try and catch up later and let you know how I got on or not!!! LOL.

I'd agree re slimming world- very much encourages real food and they don't have an array of puds and biccies that WW does. The main expense is buying leaner meats but that was my preference anyway x

Making the most of the peace before our guests arrive;)

Morning all. Bit of a grim day here weatherwise so I'll just be pottering indoors, having had a day out with DH yesterday so therefore no flying was done.

I have orange cake in the oven for a fundraiser tomorrow, but looking at it now, I don't think it will raise any funds. May have to try again, I have to take something.

    My list then:

    Walk dogs between showers
    Hoover through house
    Ironing
    List

    Have a great day everyone.
Spend less now, work less later.

    Waving from the sofa.

Yesterday was distinctly horrible, but I seem to be through the worst. New medication is greatly helping my indigestion.

DH is working from home today to make sure I am ok.

My time on the chemo ward is best described as humbling. I am generally in a room with up to 6 other patients. Yesterday there was good conversation going on between 3/4 of us. But on every visit I have come across one person who is really struggling. The staff are truly amazing and this shows in their treatment of these struggling patients. So whilst I came out feeling really rough yesterday - even DS noticed and commented - I knew that by today I would feel better.

DD1 seems to be coping with living out. Fingers crossed it continues. DD2'S fiance is still unwell in Spain. They start the return journey tomorrow (36 hours on a coach), so priority is to get him checked out when they return.

Hope everyone has a good day. We had a lot of rain overnight, but we probably needed it.

 to CY - hope you're feeling OK this morning
    MMM, how is your DH?
Hope you get a dry pitch for your tent, Frizzle.
Do you find that you spend a lot on SW stuff when you're doing it? I always found when I was doing WW that we ended up spending lots on books, branded food etc (and I didn't even go to weigh-ins so didn't have that expense).

Wot they said! I am 4.5 stone lighter than I was 2 years ago and feel sooooooooo much better for it, and DH has lost 3 stone so far. Cooking is one of my passions, and from the start I was determined not to fall back into old ways of eating - I decluttered most of my posh recipe books with expensive ingredients so that I would not be tempted to "add half a pound of butter" etc! I buy the magazine and recipe books because I want to, not because of any pressure (I can get high on just reading recipe books :p). I buy almost all our food from @1d!. As usual, our meal on Wednesday was all cooked from scratch and was delicious - and I don't think I spent more than 2 hours preparing everything, which was my "me" time for the day because I find it very therapeutic. My DH is always complimentary about the meals I cook, so that makes me happy too :)

I achieved everything off my little list yesterday apart from pinning up DGD2's skirt - but I did enjoy my Hollywood blockbuster ;) I have even slept in for a change :D
Today I shall aim to do:
    - no washing until tomorrow because it's raining steadily, and sunshine is forecast for the weekend
    - QHTR (quarter hour tidy round)
    - make some phonecalls
    - drive (1 hour) to our cathedral city
    - do a little bit of shopping
    - go to a meeting from 11.30-12.30
    - home for late lunch (but we're also having late breakfast!)
    - pin and sew DGD2's skirt
    - make notes on chapter 1 of the book I started yesterday
    - update 2 more resource boxes

Hope everyone has a good day x
  • Thank you Lynnejk, took your advice and managed to tidy the kitchen before going to bed. Lovely to come down to it all clear and tidy.
