Today I have received a most beautiful collection of baby houseplants from my secret Santa. I have sent a thank you text to what I hope is the correct number.

If I have got the number wrong I apologise, but I want to say the most enormous thank you. They are stunning and have truly made my day.

  • Evening all,

Back from my mums, house a shed, nothing done:( I may bit a bit slow on the uptake here, but I think today I have finally figured out that my ability to keep up with housework /do any housework at all is directly related to hormones. Also diet gone to pot today as declutted lots of stodgy food.
Anyway, CY what a lovely thing for someone to do.
Narco, jealous of towel rail a la kondo. Mine falling off wall, want new one but we are making a new bathroom downstairs, and our current bathroom will soon be gone, so I can't justify buying one. On the subject of Kondo, OH bought himself a load of new socks and pants and proudly opened his drawer to show me how he'd kondo folded them all neatly. Wow.

Sorry about posting this massive list but I need to spur myself on.

    Morning all

Lovely surprise CY hope you have a brighter day.

We certainly are! Brighter, that is! The sun is shining here. Just put DS bedding in to wash (again). We are still ranging from bed wetting (even with underj@ms on) through to dry as a bone. He took a book to bed last night and I told him to go to the loo when he'd read it - I heard him go... But still wet bed:( ah well. Should dry in no time today :T

    Today's plan:
    Get showered and dressed.
    Collect parcel from PO depot.
Take DD dancing (DS and I have a "make your own clock" kit to do while we wait)
Meet dad for lunch - not confirmed.
Some time in garden and tidying conservatory.
Check with friend about meeting tomorrow- not confirmed either.

    Right. Coffee slurped, shower next!

    Morning all.

I haven't caught up with the thread as its been one of those weeks where I don't seem to be getting much done and suddenly its Saturday morning and the house is a mess. I'm going to play catch up today, simply because I want to start decorating tomorrow or Monday and my house is that easy to clean thanks to years of following this thread I know it won't take me forever. I've grabbed the list, I'm going to grab some breakfast while putting on the first wash load then I'm going to get stuck in. I have 2.5 hours to get as much done as possible so here goes:

Monday Mayhem: A bit of everything!

    Level 1
Starting upstairs, work your way through the house with that feather duster (or whatever you have). Dust and deweb, as far through as you like / need.
    Level 2
Follow your dust trail with the vacuum cleaner, only lift it upstairs if it's safe to do so.
Empty / clean filter and set a hot wash on WM
    Level 3
Clear kitchen worktops and wipe down.
Wipe out the fridge and stick any grot in the compost / bin.
    Extras:
    • Have 10min checking over your calendar for the next week or so.
    • Eat a frog
Tuesday Tantrums: Kitchen & Dining Room

Wipe down the cupboard fronts, including kickboards, and get those door handles hygienically clean!
    Wipe down your large appliances.
    Level 2
Clear a hotspot, is anything breeding on top of your cupboards or fridge freezer
Give your DR table a polish and change the tablecloth if needed.
    Wipe down the chairs too.
    Level 3
To the cooker - give the hob a good shine!
And the oven too, if you've any steam left!
    Extras:
    • Mop a floor or two.
    • Empty a drawer and wipe it out.
    • Have a clear out and only replace in the drawer what needs to stay.
    Wednesday Wickedness - Living Room

Hoover / sweep and mop these areas
    Level 2
    Hoover soft furnishing
    Level 3

    Extras
    • Use up the last of a cleaning product
    • Wash a window or two
    • Polish any mirrors

Any toilettries bottles to be decanted / recycled?
Make a list of what toilettries you have to use up - and which ones are running out and to be added to your shopping list

Good morning all  Hope the weather has improved for everyone today - obviously it's going to get better in the Kingdom of Fife because your schools re-open on Monday!- and you are all safe and dry.

    GWS to your DH, JTTOU.
Your Secret Santa must have been posting early for Christmas, CY!
YL - I keep my sponge scourers in an old crock preserving pot (relic of my childhood) next to my sink, and drape my bright red microfibre dishcloth over the top of that like a modern art installation :rotfl:

I went to an excellent meeting yesterday and came away buzzing with ideas. I am now looking at mind mapping as a way of taking and making notes - love the use of colours and images, although I shall have to discipline myself to stick firmly to one word per branch :o

    My list for today:
    - WM x3 including bedding
    - Finish 2 skirts for DGD2 (I bought some more pretty material yesterday, bright yellow with lines of tortoises)
    - Experiment with mind mapping chapter 1 of the book I'm reading
    - Update 2 resource boxes.
    - Deadheading in the back garden

DH is playing on the railway all day - it's their Sixties Weekend (only about 4 weeks since the Forties Weekend - how time flies! :rotfl:) and he's particularly looking forward to the tribute bands.

Catch up later. (((Hugs))), spoons and sticks all round, as needed x

    Congratulations embb xx

Ballet and lunch decluttered. Have come over really tired, happily the littlies have decided it's cinema time so they've set a DVD on in my room and closed the blinds :) so I'm going to lay on the bed for a while...

Just brought washing in, nearly dry and it went very dark suddenly:o

So. This afternoon I'm choosing laziness ;)
