ASAP SJ lol. I don't know really. We can only OP £500 PM which is irritating.

So 99's target is whenever our normal monthly payments plus £500 extra on top can get us there. Not sure how to work it out. I guess around 7 months or so. Certainly by the end of 2016!

Need to try and find an online calculator than can show me what next months balance will be and what the balance will be in 3/6/9 months time if I OP certain amounts. Does that sort of thing exist?

    Outstanding Mortgage £27,971
    Emergency Fund £62,100

Prior to setting up my spreadsheet, I just plugged in the numbers here (it's for cars, and USD, but the basic principle applies).

    http://www.bankrate.com/calculators/auto/early-payment-payoff-calculator.aspx

Set both the first numbers to the remaining term of your mortgage (e.g. 10 years 2 months would be 122).
$500 as the additional monthly payment, current values for loan amount/interest rate.

If you click View Report it shows the yearly (or monthly) breakdown of what your balance is with the additional payments.

OK I wasn't far off. That calculator says I should ditch the 6 figures in 8/9 months :) Getting excited for the remortgage next year when I can pay my lump sum off.

£26ish coming into my account from Top cashback soon. Going into next months OP pot. Thank you post office credit card.

£400 added to my account today which I'm adding to EF 2 for now.

This will undoubtedly go on my credit card when the time comes to pay it off, but lets add it to the savings for now :)

Pet insurance sorted for my kitties. Amazing the difference in prices I was quoted, between £20pm - £40pm! So important to shop around. Hopefully a nice £40.40 cashback will be tracked via top cashback, although I am slightly concerned as it bombed out on me so had to get the quote again. Hope this doesn't mess up my cashback tracking.

    Hello lippy:hello:

Thank you for popping in on my diary.

I have just enjoyed reading through your diary. Congratulations on your wedding, passing your exam and on making over £10k overpayments on the mortgage, very impressive.

A trip to Las Vegas sounds fab, look forward to reading all about it later in the year.

I have subscribed to your diary and will be following your progress, good luck on your journey.

Will let you know how it goes. Fingers crossed the parts I have done major revision on come up and the parts I am still unsure about do not appear at all lol

Good luck with the exam! :)

Insurance takes forever to track, but at least it's generally reliable.
