Sounds like work is going really well for you. :D Try not to over stretch yourself though.

 Re. the extension but not at all surprised ... according to Mrs K architects are always getting things wrong ALL THE TIME and are the bane of her existence! :rotfl:

Get well soon and happy Easter. :)
    2018 totals:

    Mortgage Overpayments £5,500
  • Oh no :( Sorry to hear about the faulty plans Ali. Hope it gets sorted quickly.

Well done on getting your work finished - it feels so good to be able to tick things off doesn't it. :)

I started going to yoga about 6 months ago, partly to help with balance problems and partly because I'm a bit nosey. :rotfl: I've found that it really helps - might be worth trying?

    Have a lovely Monday.

Thanks both. I tend to live by the mantra of 'take on work whilst it's there'. Office all ready to work from now :D

Alex, I feel better knowing it's a common error on the measurements, but it's like pulling teeth trying to find out who does what and when! Upside is the longer it goes on, the more time for saving for it :) Hopefully it'll get sorted and move forward again soon.

MG, I keep meaning to go back to Pilates or start Yoga - there's classes just down the road :o. Usual excuses of being tired or not enough time...must try harder on that one.

Took DS to get smart shirts today, a spend of £66 for 3 in N3xt (using £50 of vouchers,) and £5.50 in Primarni. Looks so grown up and smart!

Made batch chilli for dinner and 4 for the freezer.

Off to Ideal Home Show tomorrow :j so a packed lunch to make in the morning and hopefully a good day out. Before I go must remember to phone the Spanish Bank with the capital payment going overnight for MOP...

£870 being sent which works out as an OP of £180.75 and scores on the doors shall be:

    Dec 13 - £133,444
    Mar 16 - £109,960
    Apr 16 - £109,090

    Split:
Big part - stays as is at £92,225
    Small part - £17,735 reduces to £16,865

    Chipping away at it :)

    Other financials:
    - bank accounts checked
    - FPL & LP being checked
    - Inbox £s at £4.82
    - Qmee pot up at 85p
    - 8p roadkill
    - £1 in 1p's ready to bank

Savings are up at £10,240 - not far off the £11k I had before paying the ERC in January - pleased with that. All bar £1250 is earning either 4% or 5% interest :D
    Back on the DFW Wagon:

    CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
    CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
    Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/18

Sounds like my life at the moment, I'm seriously busy with work which is completely unexpected, to be honest but am someone who can't say "no" if the opportunity presents itself.

Welcome to dealing with the construction industry, Ali. ;)

Good to hear you are busy too Alex - keeping busy can be good for our mental health as well (staves off pessimism for me).

:rotfl: Sounds ominous! What have I let myself in for?!

Thanks on the financials - after 'Debt-Gate' I enjoy hanging onto my income as well as seeing the mortgage go down, hence like to balance what I pay off and what I save :).

Thinking more about mortgage neutrality too but need to be careful it doesn't accidentally fall into the extension pot :)

P.S. I never feel like can be bothered to go to yoga (shhhh...don't tell anyone though). :rotfl:

P.P.S. I do really enjoy it when I get there.

I feel a lot better when I'm working, less time to think, I suppose?
When home though I think I'm an awful parent for not "being there" as often as when work is slow. :(

:rotfl: Hahaha ... it'll be OK in the end but you've likely let yourself in for a few battles at least. ;)

I know where you're coming from re. the finances. I'm glad I have no credit anymore. :)

Mortgage neutrality is certainly an interesting concept, especially with interest rates being so low. However, certainly easy to spend... never mind extensions how about on a nice sports car? ;)

How was the Ideal Home show? :)

I know I read on here, that you collected keys for your new premises, got it all sorted and its now ready to "open for business" You are so busy, how did the Ideal Homes exhibition go, hope you both enjoyed the day out.

    How was Ideal Homes?

Sorry to hear about architect issue, what a pain. I'm feeling less stressed about rushing things through now as it seems a much longer process than I thought. Can't see us starting the build this year! We have had a horrific provisional quote too which has dampened the enthusiasm!

Ideal Home Show was fab and a great day out. Off peak tickets and some fudge to bring back for DS were the only spends :) Freebie goody bag I've yet to nose into! Some excellent show deals - so think once the extension shell is on it's way, it might be a good place to go for some items another year.

Sorry to hear you've had an expensive quote Cath and agree with you on relaxing about it. I have gently nudged the architect and engineer after a few weeks of hearing nothing to enquire on progress which seemed to prompt action, aside that nothing else for me to do. I think BC agreement can take around 4 weeks and I expect if we're going back to Planning for amendments, that'll add another couple of months. No wonder we get 3 years to start the work :rotfl:

My plan is to get 3 fixed prices once the BC plans are signed off - ball park was useful for seeing if it's financially viable before spending out on regs/calcs. It's all a bit chicken and egg!

AFK - has been really busy with setting the office up, over there today and also a client meeting this afternoon. I've a catch up at home day pencilled in for Friday - think it'll have to be a rest one.

I'm worn out and neck/back and everything leading from it are sore/painful - I need stretching out and pinging back into place :rotfl:

Remembered to phone Spanish Bank yesterday before leaving for London, so the mortgage capital payment got applied :)
