That will be me then .........was worried for a second this lovely government of ours was going to start taxing electric cars!
Any car registered before April 17 (I think) will keep its current road tax bracket, it's just for brand new ones it all changesshangaijimmy wrote: »When he's really really in trouble it's a short sharp Vincent!
:j Annual mortgage statement has arrived - a nice surprise as last year's arrived in April!!! Fitted onto one page, but they've shrunk the typeface..either that or I need new reading glasses
2 bits of good news for my I/O mortgage - 20% OP allowance again for this year, but even better, minimum OP amount has come down to £100 from £500. They also now allow a new deal to be booked 6 months in advance, rather than the old 3. Well done The Spanish Bank :T
Washing all done (no added milk) and on airers, bins, towels, beds all done last night, so it's on to blitzing the housework and getting chocolate cake made in time for DIYer to arrive and hopefully fix tap and start speccing the extension on paper.

Hope the cat is ok Skinny, horrible job clearing up after poorly pets
Breakfast out sounded good INOD and I need to shop for new lounge lights at some point too - one of ours is broken.
Am eating out tomorrow - being a 'lady what lunches' with vouchers. As it's in town, I'll get the March birthday vouchers I need. One present wrapped as well.
Been very productive this weekend - chocolate cake was made and all eaten yesterday! Tap fixed (grub screw needed tightening, doh, I'm such a girlie when it comes to that stuff). Plan of action discussed for extension and other little jobs diaried for early May. Housework done, washing put away, bits for ironing done. I also banked £35 from the change bucket, as the 5p's had got to £5.
Gorgeous sunshine kicked off a chilly dog walk this morning, then spring clean mode kicked in and a few fiddly jobs done - bathroom light fitting cleaned, bathroom cabinet decluttered and cleaned, shower screen bit taken apart and cleaned. Lots of paintwork washed. Pleased with all that. Still need to sort airing cupboard - plan was for after dinner tonight, but BAFTAs is on....
DS didn't get the work experience placement he'd applied for last October as they decided not to offer to Y10s  ..he's got a guaranteed place for next year if he'd like it though, so we'll take that and hope it doesn't clash with him sitting his GCSEs. So we've now a few companies he will contact tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
Financials:
- bank account checked - alot of DDs go out next week (throw back to being paid on the 15th back in the 90s!)
- freepostcodelottery checked
- Inbox £s up at £18.69...getting closer to payout
- Qmee - picked up another 11p and current pot at 66p
Lovely to have the whole house clean and tidy for a change - shall enjoy it now as it won't last long :rotfl:Back on the DFW Wagon:

Amazing what a little sunshine can do, been a bit productive myself today starting a little spring clean.
Hope DS gets a placement so annoying to be let down last minute
Chocolate cake sounds yummy, having a cup of tea at the moment and a slice of chocolate cake would be heaven with it
Enjoy your lunch tomorrow, and the visits you have lined up for this week.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
Ali, you sound a lot better.
In 2017 will all cars go down to a flat rate of £140 for tax unless over 40 years old?2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -
Or go up to £140.

Or go up to £140.
Mine is currently free!
My 3 classics are free but the Defender isn't. Neither is the Discovery or 5 Series but they'll be sold soon.
I'm quite confused as when new tax bands have been created before (2001, 2006), the older ones have remained the same. However, I hope you're right and the obscene £500 rate will be dropped altogether. Completely understand you may be annoyed if your car is currently free but will change to being £140, though.2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -
The car tax change is only for brand new cars registered on or after 1st April 2017.
Everything else will stay in the same bands as at present, though whether they'll go up a bit as they so often do is yet to be seen.
I'm the same as you Beanie - current band nil.
Alex, car tax go down :rotfl: You were joking, right?Back on the DFW Wagon:
