Am munching through second layer of Thorntons and half way through a 6 pack of Walnut Whips! If DS doesn't get his hands on them, should last me until Easter
Had a bargainous day - eyebrow thread should have been £4 but was FOC as loyalty card full up :T
Mum requested her favourite flowers, so I popped to the nursery florist I've used for 25 years or so. They know me well and got chatting and result was to collect en route to Mums, where she'd made a gorgeous posy bowl arrangement for her and wouldn't let me pay. What a lovely gesture. I've written a Thank You card to drop in.
Pays to be loyal to local independents sometimes
Spent the afternoon at Mum's with DS and in light of recognising where she is on her journey, it's likely I'll be taking time out of work at some point. So it maybe wise I don't OP much in the short term and make it up later in the year. It feels the most sensible thing to do.
Bitterly cold here today, but the extra insulation my DIY friend put in the kitchen and utility roof space last year is making a big difference - thermostat on 20C and it's toastyBack on the DFW Wagon:

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother's health.
Will certainly agree about being loyal to local independents, though.2018 totals:

Small touches and simple gestures but make a heavy heart light:)
Good you managed to see your mum with DS and she must have been delighted with her favourite flowers.:)Thinking of you, ds and mum, and good forward thinking re the o/p's, you can always catch up later in the year, which looks like will be my option as well.
Not too cold here, but snow is thick, hope to get more overnight:DAlways have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -

Thanks for your kind words. AFK - Mum loved the flowers.
Woke up to a fair dusting of snow this morning :j All gone now, but enjoyed being out with the dogs in it this morning.
Courtesy of DFOD posting about CK sale, just ordered 2 fab presents for March birthdays to get a head start and via £co too for a little cashback.
DS has had a friend here all day so made cottage pies this afternoon for tonight's dinner with some spare for the freezer.
Spent a few hours trying to sort DS's laptop again, not sure it's the hardware problem I first thought as lots of people reporting the same issue and resolution seems to be a change of graphics card manufacturer. Expensive!
Done little in the house todayLeast all the washing put away, kitchen and lounge clean and tidy. That'll have to do!
Financials:
- bank accounts checked - all ok there
- freepostcodelottery checked - bonus up at £9.04
- Inbox £s - up at £16.57
- Qmee - current pot up at 66p
Bit of spreadsheet fiddling and MF date is coming out at August 2023 - 4 years, 1 month early. Happy with that if I can achieve the monthly payments I've put in! Roughly a £340 OP per month.Back on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/180 -
Glad to hear your mother liked the flowers.
We had snow too and both mine and parents' dog loved it (their first snow).
Your son's laptop always seems to be playing up.Hope you find a solution soon.
Mortgage free date sounds really positive. Less than ten years to go must be a rather nice position to be in.2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -
Great to hear the dogs loved the snow, Alex.
Took DS's laptop into the repair place today - it seems to have a problem once a year. Expect to hear in 24-48 hrs what it is and what can be done. DS will be footing the bill as things stand, Bank of Mum is closed
Without wishing life away, I can't wait to have the mortgage paid off.
Have come up with a plan to keep OPs to one side, which is to use the T$B 5% reg saver as a chunk of OP in the autumn, whilst I'll use the old repayment figure (£1032.41 including interest) as my monthly payment marker (so @ £110 OP monthly). All adds up to getting me to under £100k by end of the year
Not much else to report today, other than the next box of Maltesers are open  But not empty as yet!Back on the DFW Wagon:
