And only 2 years of ink ...nearer 8 for me :D

Admittedly I used pen and paper for mortgage rate comparisons - some things are definitely easier sat with a calculator making notes and lists...love my lists! :D

I use pen, paper and calculator too. I find spreadsheets best for really long term things where you can get into a habit with them.

The other thing I use I call 'Word-Blogs.' Word documents for myself which I keep on my desktop. I update them when something develops (payment / balance reduction / phone call etc.) I also stick in the odd joke and swear word when I feel like it to keep myself amused.....I'm sad like that :o !! These do work for me, keep the paper at bay and are more flexible than spreadsheets. I have several on the go at the moment and will start a mortgage one when I reorganise. :)

Skinny, this is a former MFW's (Locoblade) spreadsheet that I started with.

Straight forward to fill in and will show you monthly interest figures. To get the daily one, divide the monthly by 30.4.

Hope that helps and have fun!

What an amazing spread sheet, I can see some serious fiddling coming on! THANK YOU

Great you're joining the Fiddlers Club, Skinny :D

Is it only Tuesday? :o I've written a food shop list thinking it was mid-week :o We're out of fresh veg, so it's frozen peas with everything now :rotfl: HM Cottage Pie tonight was perfect for the colder weather we've got now.

P!necone survey in and done - another £3 for the pot

Prescription charge of £8.20 today for my HRT stash - an investment in my mood and the knock on effect of work motivation, focus and productivity :)

Got another £10 of change to be banked.

    Financials:
    - bank accounts checked
    - freepostcodelottery checked - bonus at £8.98
    - Inbox £s - up at £16.22
    - Qmee - 55p in the pot

Budgeted amount for next capital payment is up at £939 :)

Anyone heard of or use Kidstart? It's a bit like cashback but to a nominated child's account. Will research a bit more. Thought it might be a little earner for anything that doesn't go through TCB or Qu!dco.

Now I've got the right day of the week :o I've been food shopping. Not before I made chicken casserole...with extra peas :rotfl:

Shop came to £21.24 - back on track for my £100 a month target.

Eaten a box of maltesers from the Christmas pressie pile in the space of 10 minutes, followed by fruit - less guilt :rotfl:

Spoke too soon about Mum, gone back downhill and GP in today and back Friday. Been given a reality check by DB :( Fine line between being realistic and positive, but time to start taking a phone to bed.

Got a full billable work day tomorrow followed by DS's parents evening too, so a busy one.

On that note, time for bed. Boing said Zebedee :D

  • It's been hard to keep track of the days, but now i'm on countdown to returning, the days are fair flying by:(

Your putting me to shame - you have a target of £100 for 2 people, and I have that for 1:o

Maltesers and Guylain - my favorites:D

Hope your mum has just had an "off" day and that she will be back to herself in no time at all:)

Great work is busy and billable:A

DS parent evening too - you'll be :T after that.

  • Loving the maltesers talk as they are mine favourite by a mile (I also include maltesers bunnies and teaser bars in the same category)! Father-in-law is the local primary schools lollipop man and at Christmas he gets his body weight in chocolate and most is maltesers - it's amazing!
    MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......
  • Did you not get any Rudolf mini teaser bars?, got a couple of packs for xmas, (just like the bunnies, only mini Rudolfs).

As yet I've not, but there's still a sizeable pile of unopened chocolate at father in laws. 7 year groups all buying him presents! I'll have a hunt at the weekend!

You're all tempting me to open another box  Started on some Thornton's tonight...love truffles.

Sounds like choc-fest at your FIL's SJ :D

AFK, parents eve was pleasing, he is doing really well and predicted to achieve A/A*s. New English and Maths predictions are 7s - (A/A* equivalent though highest mark is a 9) but a bit unknown as they're first tranche to take these. Hope he keeps up the good work having got this far and hope family things don't derail him.

Mum not so good, we'll be there tomorrow after a quick eyebrow thread for me in the morning.

Haircuts booked for the following weekend and booster vacs booked for Doodle in school hols next month. Dental check ups for DS and I next week too.

£60 spent today on theatre tickets for 'An Inspector Calls' - DS is studying this at the moment, so the opportunity to see it on stage locally is a bonus. Going with another parent and pupil next month and all looking forward to it :)

Work scheduled reverts to normal levels after 2 really busy weeks, quite happy with that given family situation :)

Not much spreadsheet fiddling at the moment either!

    Happy weekend everyone :j
