A beautiful day here and 2 loads of washing are drying on the line.
DIYers are finalising grass area base with sand and compacting. Grass will get rolled out today but probably not laid tomorrow as rain due. I am getting sooo impatient now.
Postman brought Inbox P0unds cheque for £20.16, so I've banked that into the TT holding pot - now at £89.31 extra :j Bit more to add from Qu!dco and Qmee next week.
Bought cheapest travel insurance I could find (£2.09) to get the Meerkat Movies deal - now an up to 48 hour wait for it to validate, but DS delighted as he's a film lover so it'll be a well used deal.
Family all organised to come up for DS's birthday - we go out for lunch with ex's family and then all back to house and joined by my family for tea and cake. All get on well (except ex who moved to other side of world 3 years ago and DS won't speak to since - difficult). I just need to book the restaurant (DS has chosen T0by carvery and am signed up to vouchers/deals).
Going to enjoy the sunshine today and do indoor stuff tomorrow. Time for elevenses - tea and cake to keep the workers happyBack on the DFW Wagon:

Toby carvery sounds like a good option, vouchers as well always a bonus:o
Sorry to hear ds doesn't speak to ex, at least you are amicable with his family. I don't see/ speak to my in-laws although I ensure the girls do.HOME

You're lucky on the weather. It's supposed to be sunny here but it's just cloudy although muggy. I think we're in for a huge thunderstorm later which will be fun! Love a good storm.
Nothing better than line dried washing though.
Jealous!!

Fingers crossed they'll be some deals or vouchers out by his birthday. Table booked so another job done.
Remained close with ex's family, particularly as DS is their only grandchild. Ex SIL and her DH will be coming too. As they're not local they come for the day - used to meet half way or alternate who did the long journey. Due to my vision/panic attacks when driving issue, they always come to us now. Feel guilty, but alternate transport method not viable.Thistlewhistle wrote: »You're lucky on the weather. It's supposed to be sunny here but it's just cloudy although muggy. Hot and sunny with a lovely breeze later on yesterday. The perfect summer's day. Did you get any storms?
Grass was rolled out yesterday and with glorious sunshine again this morning, DIYers will be here shortly to start fixing it down. Rain due about lunchtime so let's see how far they can get. Dogs tested it in more ways than one :rotfl: looks and feels amazing though.
NSD yesterday and should be another one today. Chocolate cake all gone again! I'm going to make the ice cream muffins shortly
Meekcat Movies validated and voucher code through, so we'll be going to see Pixels on Tuesday :j
Sad day yesterday at Shoreham, checked in on family who live there and they are all ok. Thoughts with the bereaved families.Back on the DFW Wagon:

Hi Ali-OK
Absolute humdinger of a storm last evening - it must have lasted a couple of hours. Some serious lightning and torrential rain.
I love storms. I always get the car out and go up onto the fells to watch them come up the valley. Saw some forked lightning and loads of cloud to cloud. Totally exhilarating. At one point I was right in the middle of it.
I do worry about my car being struck but I was parked up next to a pylon so assumed it'd hit that first. I'm such a gambler!!!
Have a great day today....if all goes well I might just manage a No Spend Day

Hope you got your NSD Thistle, I did too :j
Wow those storms sound full on - we had a shower or two but nothing like forecast. Good for the garden and topping up the water butt, but stopped the DIYers half way through. So it's all laid out and half is cut/fitted. Really pleased with it and hopefully that is the end of dirt and dust being brought into the house by the doglets.
Should be finished next weekend, though those bits and bobs jobs are still to do.
Made a roast chicken dinner and have used the rest up making curry, with a spare for the freezer. Well stocked in batch meals and the emergency pack of fish fingers hasn't been touched in ages so they'll make their way into the meal plan...fish finger sandwiches for lunch one day mmm....:D Takes me back to my teens!
Decided I am going to apply for a 1-2-3 account and CC after reading cashback on that too - currently use a S'bobs CC as a monthly use and pay off which bags some nectar points but cash would be better. Need to organise so date opening falls to push money through Club LL0yds and then S@ntander I think.
