How much would you pay a family member to babysit?

When I babysit my niece or nephew I don't get direct money for it, but I get a 'favour' in return. For example, if I needed my sister to go to the post office for me (coz I'm working) then I don't think she should hesitate to help me out there.
However, I've only ever babysat the odd night here and there. I think if I was expected to babysit for a whole weekend or more then I would expect some payment. About £50 for the weekend I think is fair. I wouldn't want more as then I'd feel guilty.0 -
I babysat my siblings a hell of a lot when younger, but was never paid for it. I did once cheekily ask if i'd be paid, my dad's response was "we feed you, we clothe you, we keep a roof over your head-so i think its only fair you do this for free"
When i was older and they did a once yearly overnight stay, they did end up giving me £20 and a new bad taste bear that i collected.
Maybe i was hard done by
but i think my dad had a point in some ways, i already got pocket money anyway and they did do an awful lot for me (which i know is technically their role as parents but later on at uni they bailed me out a lot so all things considered i'm ok with having done it for free) This is a system account and does not represent a real person. My wife's sister is happy to just watch netflix for a few hours and help herself to the fridge - we don't pay her.0
