How much would you pay a family member to babysit?

£50?! I'll come and babysit for that!
Not that my SIL would ever contemplate it, but I'd happily babysit my nephew in return for being fed and access to Sky/Netflix, maybe a bottle of wine as an extra thanks (obviously not to be drunk whilst babysitting!).Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0

 Happy to have them.
When they are collected I have been given a token gift of flowers/ small pot plant.
I would think a granny is a bit different to a teen who has no interest in looking after anyone's kids, family or not.
Spinksy, I think you should get her making tea for you all before you go out.
I would say a fiver an hour, same ish as a job.Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0

Now if she did the cleaning instead of making the tea, 5 quid an hour would be fair and there is some ironing which i would chuck in an extra £2.50 as a bonus. Is it wrong to ask her to do that as well? It would stop her from getting bored...I would think a granny is a bit different to a teen who has no interest in looking after anyone's kids, family or not.

I'm babysitting my friends children tonight and I've never considered asking for money - and I've done it loads of times before and really dislike doing it! Surely you do it because they are either related or a friend, maybe I'm too nice...........0

Me and wifey are going out tonight tearing up the dance floor so we have her sister babysitting for us. Wifey is going to give her 50 quid but i think it should be free, after all she is their aunt! I have made her a lasagne and given her the password to my netflix which i think is more than enough
How much would you pay a family member?
I'd never presume they'd do it for free. If they offer to do it for free then aside from the netflix and lasagne..maybe some booze of their choice?0

I babysit for my friends a lot and would never consider charging them. I would be horrified if they tried to pay me £50. I see it as doing a friend a favor, as they would for me if I needed a favor.
If it was family then it would definitely be free, unless her sister is a teenager herself and then maybe £10 or £20 max0
