Unfortunately, the (relatively new) rear-extension of our house doesn't leave that much room.

So all in all, the Access leads to an effective dead-end (our and their back gardens' gates).

And that is the reason why no one is interested as your neighbour isn't causing any obstruction by parking there.

Except making it near-impossible for wheelie bins to be moved from the rear of the property to the front ready for collection day?

Are you seriously unable to comprehend such obvious issues? Or are you merely looking to be argumentative for the sake of it?

(I appreciate the OP makes mention of parking of OP's visitors ... but subsequent posts have made it clear that this is only ONE aspect of the neighbour's behaviour that causes an issue, and is not the primary issue).

Bod - thanks very much. I got the feeling I was being trolled, and so gave up. But you have hit the nail on the head on ALL counts, i.e. -

    1) Yes, we too have visitors - but -

    2) There are other issues - such as those I actually spelled out (repeatedly).

    Thank you :-)

There's millions who live in terraced properties who can't wheel their wheelie bin from front to back. Can you suggest why any authority should be interested in the OPs issue?

After all if his visitor is parked there the neighbour has the same issue. I'd love to see what value this dispute is taking off his home.

Agreed on the first point :-)

I'll make a point of it when I get home - thanks.

You could try a Land Registry search, which you can do online for @£4, to see who actually owns the land - https://eservices.landregistry.gov.uk/www/wps/portal/!ut/p/b1/04_SjzS0tDQwMTIxMjLXj9CPykssy0xPLMnMz0vMAfGjzOKNjSxMDA1NjDwsjM3MDTxN3dyNDUNMjQ1MjPWDU_P0c6McFQH3SLFU/

    Best wishes.

Thanks - I had completely forgotten about that site - a very helpful lady working there told me (without a fee) on the phone some information which led me to a successful outcome on a legal case (totally separate from this).

If you've no room for a car/garage, then get yourself a moped and keep that in a shed in your back garden. And/or a bicycle that you go out and ride regularly ... including 5am if you peek outside and see a car in the way.
