  • There is a Light, that sounds dreadful.

I can just imagine the stress. thank God it is the weekend.

    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Oh my goodness - all sounds quite serious. I hope that you're ok xxx

I am OK Cat just really unsettled. It's like a black cloud over the department. I am annoyed that I have been dragged into it and discovered that a few lies have been told which is what hurts the most. I just think that my professionalism has been brought into question even though I have been reassured by more than one senior manager that it isn't.

Hopefully it will all be over soon and we can all move on and I hope that my colleague has some chance of rebuilding her career.

Thank goodness for the weekend indeed. Just need to try and put my positive head back on for Monday as I have loads to do in the next 2 weeks.

    Roll on the Easter holidays.

  • Had couple of spendy days which appears to be my default setting whenever things get me down. Entertainment budget for the month is now empty so I need to get creative with the rest of the month by finding extra income as I have an afternoon out with my bestie planned next week followed by a visit to family and a concert over the Easter weekend.

OH and I had a discussion about how much we are spending on eating out (again) and have pledged to try and find other avenues for entertainment including inviting friends to our house, looking for any local gigs or maybe comedy clubs. Since the boys left home we are quite isolated so fill the gaps in with food and drink:o Definitely something to focus on. We are going to have a meal out free April...........that's the plan anyway.

Weather is hopefully improving so we could plan a car boot fair over the Easter holidays.

One bit of great news, OH did a £10 bingo offer last night and won £400:beer: I have mixed feelings about this as OH has trouble staying away from these type of sites and we have had fallings out in the past but he assures me that he has it under control.

  • Time for some more health wealth and happiness goals:

    Health
I must focus on my health more and quickly, I had 3 x packets of crisps yesterday and feel rubbish today:o Today I am taking a healthy wrap instead of sandwiches an will have something quorn related for dinner when I get home at 7pm ish.
Get out for a decent walk tomorrow evening and make this the main focus for the weekend. Hopefully the weather will be OK.
Look after my mental health and try to distance myself from the happenings at work, if I am asked any more questions I will answer them with integrity and move on rather than ruminating for several hours/days afterwards. I am a total over thinker and have actually surprised myself with how much I dismiss reassurances. OH pointed out that management do not have to go out of their way to reassure me and the fact that they have actually means that I DO NOT have anything to worry about.............yet still I worry.

    Wealth
Unexpected boost this week with the bingo win.
I have been very good this month at work and to date have spent the total of £1 on a sweetie mix up (when stressed out last Monday and felt a bit faint). I plan to continue this no spend at work approach for the rest of the month and beyond.
Only 16 days to my DF date:D
Budget has been re jiggled to allow us to buy groceries for the rest of the month:rotfl: This seems to be averaging £50 a week which I feel is a lot for 2 people. It does include OH alcohol though which is a decent chunk at least £14 a week:mad:
Eating out is our biggest spend by far, last month it was higher than our mortgage! Plans afoot to sort this out.

    Happiness
Focus on my to do list and doing a good job. I refuse to let recent events affect my performance and I will try to work with focussed intention.
Make the effort to notice 5 positive things a day, even if it is the sun shining:)
Make plans to do some cheap activities at the weekend.
Catch up with best friend at the weekend.
SKype DS1 as he is in San Francisco at a conference :T

I am feeling much more positive and in a get things done mood. Watch out world!

  • Another nice boost from PA 3 x surveys totalling £4.70, did these in under 30 mins while eating breakfast :)

I will ditch some of the rubbish and time consuming sites and just stick to this one I think.

OH has been given some bags of logs from a local factory which means that we do not have to go chopping wood this weekend (awful but rewarding task) free heat feels great!

  • £5 off food and drink vouchers each so we managed to have a lovely lunch out for £2.39 :)
Surveys seem to be plentiful at the moment, almost up to the £20 vouchers threshold with Isay and got a £25 bonus for applying for FD CC.

Rest of the month will be a bit spendy over Easter as going to concert in Manchester and visiting DS1. Work was much better this week with little mention of the suspended colleague and thankfully no more questions.

    4 days left work work!

One debt remaining. Home improvement loan.
  • Well ladies and gents, I have sent my final payment to S@ntander which means that of today I am officially debt free.

I would like to thank everyone that gave me support or those that took the time to read my ramblings. Clearing my debt has helped me refocus my attention not just on my finances but also my life in general and my outlook as to what is or is not important.

As I start the next part of my journey I will be leaving this diary behind and heading over to the MFW forums with a goal to be financially independent before my 50h Birthday in 2022. This will take me to new extremes of frugality that I know I will find challenging but it will be so worth it.

For those still on the road to debt freeness I wish you the very best of luck :A

    Love to all

Good luck over on mfw - I'm not quite ready to go over there just yet but will sneak over just to keep up with you and what you're up to.
