I have this same issue but will attempt to sort it before ditching and reverting back to Windows 70 -
gmail and thunderbird as my clients , have not used outlook for years0

Doesn't seem that much different from 8.1 to me, but then again I did an upgrade to it so it kept Start8 for me and I use Maxthon and Thunderbird. Although I do have a Hotmail email which I use for eBay and I Gmail because I have a Google account. Just tried the new mail program - seems OK. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware running OK. Spybot seems to have disappeared...0

Lost the Web Cam. Not even mentioned in Device Manager.0

I quite like it overall. Running mostly ok on my Surface Pro 3 - I do have an issue unpinning tiles from the start menu so need to look into that. All my programmes and peripherals seem to be working fineNow free from the incompetence of vodafail0

I rather liked the look of it.
BUT...
I am not happy that HP Laptops are affected by a glitch, the Shut Down / Sleep issue.
Spent days online looking for a fix especially over the weekend and tried everything, updated all drivers and BIOS Driver and still not fixed the problem.
The HP Support Forums are full of frustrated people reporting the same issues!
I spoke with HP Customer Support who didn't want to know and blamed Microsoft and told me to (a) phone them, or (b) return my laptop back to PC World to report a fault. Hardly helpful!
This is despite this problem being reported during BETA Testing of Windows 10 on a HP Laptop.
Having to force a Hard Shut Down cannot be good for my laptop.
I think I am about to revert back to Windows 8.1 sod, Windows 10. I did try to call Microsoft, but after 5 attempts I was cut off because they are too busy!0 -
Apparently my notebook Toshiba Satellite C870 is not suitable for W.10.yet seems OK bar no webcam.
Recovery back to W8.1 is via Security and Updates.0 -

Most probably a camera driver issue, you could try a force install of the w8.1 camera driver.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -

Quoting myself here
but just in case it helps someone, Kaspersky is the culprit. If I uninstall it, I am able to unpin tiles and when I reinstall it (latest KIS version from the UK site) then I am unable to unpin again. It seems that a patched version is being rolled out - the .com site has it already so I guess it'll be on the co.uk one soon. Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0
