I've just applied to open an account, got told to wait for 5 days for an answer, is that normal? Thought I'd do this rather than the HSBC one. Thanks.

Just to let you all know, account has been opened ok, switch dealt with over the phone, just waiting for my TSB a/c to switch, pay in £800 and wait for the bonus, plus money back from Quidco.

Does anyone reliably know how long one should wait before re-applying for an account with a bank whose account one's closed/transferred after getting the incentive?

One should read the bonus terms and conditions as these will detail the eligibility criteria. One will find that literally all offers are only available once.

It's possible keiran was simply looking to open a donor account with a provider they'd previously (ab)used for a switching incentive. I mean, as a seasoned switcher they would know how to read switching incentive T&Cs...presumably?

    Maybe keiran could confirm?
