In fairness though the OP's other thread does give the impression that the move to Spain is a little fluid in the sense that if it doesn't work out then they would be moving back.
I also wonder how the move was communicated to the rest of the family - did they always know that this was the plan and have just put their head in the sand or whether this was a bolt from the blue?
I know the PILs are young and you can't put your life on hold for just in case situations but it would be interesting to know if there was a 'what if' conversation - I know in my situation that wouldn't have taken place and tbh I think it would just be expected that me and mine would provide any assistance that was needed0
