  • Thanks guys :)

I've had an awful couple of days. I can't remember being so utterly depressed for months. The final straw was when the SAD lamp arrived today — and didn't work. I spent all day crying and feeling suicidal. I've felt a bit better for the past couple of hours and dragged myself to the shower before Graham Norton came on. I feel like my life is destined to turn to !!!!!!. Every time I think things are looking up, there's a huge disappointment. It was less painful when I had no hope, because that way I never got disappointed.

The handbag is no longer discounted, so I can avoid that temptation. I also received s £5 Amazon voucher from SB, so my new balance is £5. I also requested a refund for the lamp, which I bought via Amazon. It was from Lloyds Pharmacy, so I expected it to be decent quality and, you know, actually work.

Today has been completely wasted. I watched tv without enjoying it and felt too bad to go out with the dogs. I have done nothing productive all week. I really hate feeling like this, but I can't help it.

  • How are you sleeping?
Are you managing to get outdoors at all? Even 10 minutes of dull daylight will help.
And celebrate the small stuff - you've had a shower (so did my dh today :D)
For what it's worth, your support and advice have been completely invaluable to me over the past few weeks and I really have appreciated everything that you've taken the time to do for me.
Can I suggest something in return? A list of things you will do tomorrow. Anything from 'get dressed' to 'text a friend' to 'ask if I need something'. It will focus your mind and help you feel useful when you see things being crossed off the list.
  • Thanks CCL :) Haven't been sleeping well lately, but last night was actually okay. Managed to get up at a sensible time this morning too :D

Feeling fragile today, but received my. £30 of Amazon vouchers from GTM, so managed to get 3 more Xmas presents, plus a £1.99 Kafka book for me to get free delivery! Now I've only got to get presents for my parents and brother :j Though I also hope to throw something together for the pets and get some vegan Xmas treats. New balance: £2.72.

  • Sounds like a productive day ABA - that's all progress, and you're just about done for Christmas.
  • Thanks guys :) I feel so much better today. Ena — no, I definitely haven't wrapped the presents! I will leave them until December, when I can listen to Xmas music as I wrap... I usually end up doing wrapping for everyone else in the house as well (except for the ones for me!).

Trying not to pressure myself, but I still want to get stuff done. The first priority is to print out the return label for the lamp. I also need to plan my career strategy and work out how to play to my strengths.
