  • Is anyone out there brave enough to say that they work for Morrisons customer service? I would love to be a fly on the wall during their training.

So an £39.99 item reduced to 'half price' would be indicated on the reverse of the POS ticket by 00199900.

Next have changed their coding slightly, in the days leading up to the sale they write on the back of the price tickets in pencil indicating what price it will be in the sale. It used to be eg 00199900 for something being reduced to £19.99. Now they still have the price in there but it has random letters round it rather than 0's. Also if the item is not going in the sale it has c/o written on the ticket in pencil, this stands for carry over. If i'm shopping in next near sale time i always check my tickets, i hate paying full price for it to be reduced in two days time!

I think this may have been changed as I was overcharged the other week & was just refunded the difference.

I was recently overcharged. It was priced on the shelf as £1.00 for two big bags of Doritos. However, this did not come of the till, so I mentioned it to Customer Services. They refunded me the difference and gave me £2.00 gift card which I was quite surprise to find. I think they normally do it on descretion and base on individual circumstances.

Out of interest, I assume you got the replacement from the retailer, presumably Dixons/Currys/PC World. You say it was Packard Bell, which is their own brand.

In this case the retailer and the manufacturer are the same company, so they might handle returned goods in a particular way.

    Steve

Just a note on this Packard Bell is not an own brand of DSG - the brand is exclusive to them but the product is made by NEC computers, take a look at the microsoft licence key on a packard bell PC it's got NEC stamped on it. Advent, E System and even Philips computers are however their own brand PC's.

Also its not a secret but if a product sold by DSG develops a confirmed fault and its not repaired by day 28 of it being taken into the store they will swap it or refund. Its a DSG policy.
  • Another thing about Debenhams and Nectar cards is if you have any old receipts or don't have your card when you are buying something then you can go to the till with the receipt and have the points added.

Unless it's changed in the last week, you can only get your points added on the same day now unfortunately :(

if you work for the nhs or near an orange shop bring in your most recent payslip, it gets you a 10% discount for life off a contract and every time you upgrade and keep the same plan you get a further 5% up to a maximum of 25%.

if you work for the nhs and bring in your most recent payslip you can get £20 off pay as you go phones and a discount on accessories. its called a perk discount.

Sainsbury's do this all the time. Every single week there is a price discrepancy on my bill, usually where they have failed to update special offers on thier pricing systems. It can be very frustrating having to queue up at customer services afterwards. Also always check your till receipts very carefully as sometimes they only partially reduce the price tricking you into thinking you have recieved the full discount!

Hi there, I work in Sainsbury's and there is a display for the customer to see what it being paid, it doesn't show you the sub-total but each price will be displayed. Also please bear in mind that the checkout staff have an "items per minute" target to meet so don't always notice if an item has been reduced so from checkout staff's point of view this isn't deliberate. :o

I didn't think Debenhams were accepting the Nectar card anymore? Are they?
