Valli - your mantra hit a chord with me too and I think of it every time I wonder where I can put something to "sort later" and it makes me deal with that item there and then. Thank you :T

After running away from the RoD yesterday, I crept back to see if I could make a start and actually made good progress. I cleared the "pantry-to-be" of all boxes yet to be unpacked or dealt with. Unpacked and put all items away in the correct places, with the exception of my pink feather boa - bit stumped where that can go lol.

Pantry now ready for cupboards and shelving as desperately needed dry and tinned food storage. How long the shelving will take to be organised remains a mystery...

It's all starting to take shape - slowly but surely :D

    Morning everyone

Back from a holiday, had a great time, despite the fact that the weather was terrible! Had a few arguments and grumbles from the teenagers and poor DS1 is really suffering now from just generally overdoing it but all in all not a bad week.

Did some serious thinking on hols about my life and the fact that a lot of things are not how I would like them to be. A lot I cant change but some things I can and this needs to be my focus. This ties in nicely with this thread because the house is a major issue!

Other than laundry the house is quite clean and tidy so I intend to spend some time decluttering this weekend. I just need to get the rest of the family on board which is the hard part.
  • Morning everyone - had problems loading thread so had to start again and work through! Just about caught up - so hugs sticks and spoons where needed.
Have done not a lot this week with DH being off, though we have had some lovely walks and a lot of cricket watching!!

Quite glad the test is over so I can do something in the house today.
Runs to have breakfast then catch up with all of you. xx

  • Morning all,

Been awol for a couple of days as been at mum and dads as they were looking after the children while I was working. Tried to catch up with thread but not much went in. Msgnomey sorry to hear about your MIL, hope you are all ok.
CY hope you are feeling OK.
Natty most of my cupboards are full of stuff I have hurriedly shoved in a box/bag to get out of the way when expecting visitors :( then they stay there for months until I get around to doing something about it. Just proves the stuff in them was carp as I don't miss any of it when it is hidden away.

Anyway, must get stuff done today. Here is my list from Thursday to finish, with a bit more added on. Also there is walk in the village today that the children want to do, and we have a barbecue to go to this evening.

    Daily stuff
    Wipe keyboard
    Clean kitchen/ hall windows
    Hoover and mop LR
    Clear a LR surface
    Clean LR windows
    Wipe down LR pictures
    Do not obsess about food
    HHI
    15 mins kids room clearing
    Then dust it
    Then Hoover it.

    Phew!

    Msg sorry for your loss
Natty if putting stuff in cupboards is the best thing for you to do, then do it. Please don't feel bad, when I was suffering badly with the BD in 2009 I barely had the energy to get dressed, let alone put stuff away in cupboards.

Yesterday ran away with me - spin class - WM x 2 - washing up done - bought new bike - walked 17800 steps.

    Plans for today:

Make a Toots list for my new house
    Sort bigger spare room
    Sort dining room
Go to Ald! for meals for work
    Do 10000 steps
    Sort gas and electric

    Have a great day all

  • Dear All

Went awol and have just found my way back. Two out of Five days is not a great start but I will restart next week - promise!

Have caught up with everyone and feel a bit more invigorated.

Couple of sad bits - my friend's dog was put to sleep as the Vet said she would become more aggressive and on the same day found out a elderly relative died at the beginning of July, so all very sad.

On a positive note had a lovely day out with DH and DD yesterday.

So I just wanted to say thank you to you all who post as you really are lovely lot x

Sorry about your sad news Mrs MP. I am still unpacking holiday things and sorting the washing mountain. Oh and my iron has died.

As I am going around putting things away I am also throwing things out which is very satisfying. This is helped by the fact that the bin is nearly empty because we have been away all week. A carrier bag of tatty trainers has gone and I am accumulating a pile for the cs.

    Right, best keep plodding on!

DS decluttered to work - got in at 4am; back there for 11am for a 12+ hour shift! Washing on line. Working on the clutter in DR - mum will store some stuff for the kids in her shed so needs safely wrapping.

    Hi all

Managed 3 out of 5 days but life just happened on the other 2 days! Next week should be better as no appointments and DD is on camp. I have just found out we have another foster dog coming on Wednesday so will need to work around her too as apparently she suffers very bad separation anxiety despite only being a pup.

Just done a HHI so that is my Aunty's ironing done - mine will have to wait for a bit. Will drop that off in a bit when I go to collect DS birthday cake. Once home, I might have a look at our room and see if I can clear it a bit as will put the dog crate in there for pup.

Hope everyone else is ok - sorry to hear the bad news for some of you :( Hugs to those that need them.

    xx
