Afternoon all
Sorry I've not caught up with the thread, so hugs, wishes, spoons and sticks to all
Yesterday ended up being a wash out. I must have eaten something that didn't agree with me and I ended up going to bed at 5pm as the nausea was so bad. Why is life so busy i have been flying but not posting Quick update then holiday for two weeks0 -
I am seriously considering throwing everything in various cupboards out of sight..it will look nice and tidy then.. Then all I will have to do is run the hoover around.
I thought everyone did that when things overwhelmed them. No?
I may have said this before, but I had an aunt who used to bury serving dishes with all the burnt bits of food on that are such a pain to get sparkly clean. Natty, anyone who feels overwhelmed is allowed to just hide things until the get the energy back to deal with them. I do it all the time.
Five loads through the WM, pegged out and nearly dry, kitchen floor swabbed, cooking done, theatre-refugee lodger from a smoke-filled filthy house shown my office with a view to him moving in. If he gets the courage to say he wants to move out to the manky landlady I really will have to tackle it in an Ionafan kind of way, as opposed to my slapdash usual way. I'll worry about that on Sunday.
Flat out for a few days, primping the chalet for a fortnight let from tomorrow, a dinner for eight tonight and a steam train ride for a cream tea celebration of a friend's 65th birthday, in 1950s clothes followed by an evening do. I've tried on my Walkaway Dress a la Great British Sewing Bee and it looks better now that I've lost a stone or so. Knackered.
Healing vibes to anyone under the weather and soothing vibes to those that are stressed.Better is good enough.0 -
Well. Earlier this week I picked up an about-to-be-consigned-to-a-bonfire fan-shaped trellis. Dad has been and attached to to the outside wall; I have painted it with wood treatment and have attached the flopping clematis to it. Previously it was hanging on to a no-longer-used TV aerial wire. Aerial wire has now been removed <snip>
I have been meaning to get a trellis/frame for it since the spring after we moved here and I discovered I was the proud owner of a clematis. That would be 1999 then...
Have also cleaned out one of DS's boxes of 'stuff' from uni. Washed the plastic box, ensured that all kitchen stuff is in it and that all canned food is in a cardboard box.
I have collected prescription and taken it to chemist to have filled.
I have attacked the border and removed gone-to-seed stuff <snip> <snip> and binned it, sprayed weedkiller on the weeds in the path, put washing out, put ironing away, taken DD to work, taken DS to work, cancelled BT Sport thus saving £5 per month as from tomorrow and done a favour for a friend! I cleaned out Benny Bunny's hutch, too...

I'm happy to say that since Mr LW and I adopted the Valli mantra - Don't put it DOWN - put it AWAY! we don't actually have a Room of Doom.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

msgnomey sorry about your bereavement. Hugs.
Frizzle happy anniversary.
Had a bit of a mad 'activity overlap' this am; putting contact lenses in when Mum phoned; half way through that, the new freezer arrived 2 mins before my "if I don't leave by now I won't get to the gym" time. Quickly gathered bag together. Got up road and thought, why does everything look odd? Yep, I still only had one lens in..........
Posted letter.
Got present for Mr N's birthday.
After phone tennis, finally caught up with one of the friends we're visiting this w/e and made plans.
2 hrs with student.
Emptied old freezer into new one HOW MUCH FRUIT?????? and made nice new list of everything. Chucked out a few .......well I don't know what they were, that's why I chucked them out.
Wrote a bit of a report.
Usual catchup on emails etc.
Now going to change for meal out with friends, as I said, Mr N's birthday is lasting from now until Monday (the real day).
Have a great weekend everyone and I'll be back on Monday ish. With great plans.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Had a nice day out with family and had lunch out! Got back about 4pm and tried go do a few bits. Then my mum and dad came over. Kids had a snack dinner as they had had a cooked lunch. Kids in bed and we have ordered a take away! Very naughty. Going to snuggle down and watch a film tonight!
Left to do...
Wipe any icky marks – doors, handles, windows?
make a list of any back to school purchases
Clean final door in hallway
Vax some more of the stairsGrocery challenge-

Well I managed to post the list from my phone last night- power cut here from 4pm, firstly till 6.30, then intermittent through the night which of course meant any house alarms in the street that weren't backed up by battery went off - there were 2 that were playing tag every 15 minutes. One would go, then blip off, then the other would start, and so on... What a night. I had my alarm battery replaced a couple of years ago so ours was ok.
Power was off when we left this morning, and I've been back an hour but it's on now and the freezer stuff looks ok.
Other than that we've had a fab day - spent the morning at The Deep in Hull then drove up the coast to Hornsea and had a wander there. About 6pm the tide was in but the sea was choppy, and all the kids were running alongside the sea wall as the waves hit and rained down on them. Squeals of laughter and lots of wet kids, my two thought it was hilarious! Glad I took them spare clothes
So not a lot has happened here. And I'm bushed from so little sleep.
Ballet and planning for next terms beavers activities tomorrow.Bossymoo

msgnomey
- sorry for your loss
Lamewolf - I'm glad the mantra is benefitting someone - but we will get there :rotfl:
have stripped and re-made DS's bed; the bed is in desperate need of scrapping and replacing. I am seriously thinking of dumping the 'main' bed and sticking him on the 'under' bed because there are holes in the mattress and the castors are carp. In fact; having written that down I will run it by him as a temp measure tomorrow (he may be too tall for the guest bed) because I don't want him to be stabbed by a loose spring. A replacement mattress won't work as the base is no good.
I have ironed. I have now hit the bottom of the ironing pile and the THREE duvet covers are all off DD's bed.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0
