Thanks all :) I'm so relieved!

We had our home demo and there are a few little snagging items which will hopefully be sorted by the time we move in but overall I'm pleased with the quality of everything :)
The site manager must think I'm mad as I was going through it all with a fine tooth comb and made him write down any issue I saw no matter how small, I just kept reminding him that it's a lot of money to pay for something which isn't perfect :o

It's lovely though :) so spacious and the rooms are nice and big, I can't wait to move in! Although had a slight upset yesterday as OHs STUPID work said they would sort the day off for him and then decided actually no he had to work so I'm very relieved that we have booked removals as there is no way I could move by myself! But I am gutted that he won't get to be there when we get the new keys and officially own the beautiful new house. So is he, and I think I was a bit grumpy when he told me so I feel bad now. I'll make it up to him with a nice dinner tonight :)

I'm in a huge grump with my boss today as he has decided to put a partition wall in the middle of the office which leaves the admin team completely separated from the other team - not ideal when they have to liaise and work together all day  he will not back down about it either. We had a meeting a few weeks ago when it was decided it was a bad idea then this morning someone has turned up to do it - no notice, no consultation, nothing. Angry is an understatement. He wants me to manage the department but ignores my decisions and then piles work on my desk that isn't even mine. I'd love to put my foot down but in reality I will just take it in my stride and carry on...as usual :(

BUT I'm not going to be miserable today - I am really excited about the new house (less so about packing up the current one which is taking FOREVER) Thanks for all the lovely wishes and thoughts :D

Your boss isn't a Trump fan by any chance is he ;)

Glad the house is all going along well, give the site manager hell, you are the one footing the bill for anything he doesn't sort out.

We move on Friday Tink :D Packing is in earnest this week, there is still so much to do!

I am trying to move the sky broadband deal I have at the moment over to the new house but openreach haven't confirmed the line so it's looking like that won't be sorted until mid January....almost a month without internet

Problems arranging gas and electricity also as there is a problem finding the new property on the meter database, but site are telling me British Gas is already the supplier
I've sorted council tax and water bills so just this left to go for utilities. I need to order wheelie bins but can't do that until tomorrow so I'm trying to remember everything I still need to do..

OH is off to see Korn on Thursday so my parents and uncle are coming over to help me do the last minute bits and pieces like dismantling sofa and we will probably have a naughty (but budgeted for) chip shop tea as a thank you to them.

    Plan for tomorrow -
    Change drivers license address
Change address with bank and credit card companies
    Change address with car insurance
Change house insurance to new property
    Chase sky about broadband
Chase British Gas about change of address AGAIN
    Order Bins
Confirm arrival time with Removals Company
Finish packing last minute bits - kitchen stuff

Oh and do a normal day at work so it'll be an early start for packing!!

I've sold a few bits and pieces on facebook sales (like a shed we won't need) so I'm expecting £70 in to the house tonight but that's already spent really, as we have had to buy a new table (bargain £50 on ebay and it's lovely - handcrafted in Italy :D) and the old one still hasn't sold (and won't fit in new house which will be fun on Friday ) so this money will be bridging that gap (it has come out of our presents fund for now)

Anyway...after rambling on I'd best get back to packing!!

    Thanks all :D

It's going to be manic, but I'm excited all the same :)

Plus.... OH has a second interview tomorrow and he has been told by the recruiter that they have decided not to see anyone else so I am keeping everything crossed - it's not masses more money but it's just down the road from the new house and is less hours so he will be better off because of the massively reduced travel and also will be more time rich (which is much more important to me :)) he would also be able to bike to work which would mean we could get rid of 1 car :D

Thanks Bob - it's always the way isn't it - this is a busy week for both of us.

He barely slept last night, he's so nervous! We should know more details by end of play today :)
